Promising a realistic take on the iconic legendary character, Brett Ratner's take on the Hercules: The Thracian Wars graphic novel is shaping up to be one of the most highly anticipated movies of 2014. With a cast which includes the likes of Ian McShane, Joseph Fiennes, Ingrid Bolsø Berdal and John Hurt, it certainly seems to have all the right ingredients to be a great summer blockbuster. However, it's leading man Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson who is building hype for the movie with a series of production photos released via his Twitter account. Here's the latest...

Everyone knows the legend of Hercules and his twelve labors. Our story begins after the labors, and after the legend. Haunted by a sin from his past, Hercules has become a mercenary. Along with five faithful companions, he travels ancient Greece selling his services for gold and using his legendary reputation to intimidate enemies. But when the benevolent ruler of Thrace and his daughter seek Hercules’ help to defeat a savage and terrifying warlord, Hercules finds that in order for good to triumph and justice to prevail… he must again become the hero he once was… he must embrace his own myth… he must be Hercules.

I'm not following the whole "not gonna show you my face" thing the Rock is doing with this business. It's not like he's the new Godzilla (though he IS almost as big. We know what he looks like. But he's the Rock. He can do whatever he wants.

And I think mantinium is messin' with the collective readership on this site.

If people dig John Hurt. I recommend to watch The Elephant Man.

Hurt gives one of the best performances in the world as John Merrick.

Thats one touching film.

I have to admit not showing his face is adding to the hype building. Next year looks promising. Lots of big movies.

I wonder if Ratner would have the balls to not show his face the whole way through the film
