First Poster For THE HOBBIT: THE DESOLATION OF SMAUG Hits; Trailer Coming Tuesday

With official confirmation of the trailer's online premiere, the first official poster for Peter Jackson's The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug has been released. Featuring Martin Freeman's Bilbo Baggins, hit the jump to check it out.

Last week, we reported that the first trailer for Warner Bros.' The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug - director Peter Jackson's second installment of his new Middle-earth trilogy - will be attached to screenings of Man Of Steel starting June 14th. It was also said that the trailer will be released online a couple days ahead. Now, the official Twitter account for the series has confirmed that The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug trailer will debut 10 AM PST (1 PM EST) this Tuesday, June 11th. Additionally, the following tweet debuted the first theatrical poster for the sequel, once again featuring Martin Freeman's Bilbo Baggins. Stay tuned to CBM for the trailer premiere. The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug is set to hit theaters December 13th.

I wonder why they chose this to be the new poster when anyone who has read the book knows that they get inside the moutain through the secret entry and not the front gate. Looking forward to Dec.
