First Set Image From Darren Aronofsky's NOAH Surfaces

Taking a step aside from the Comic-Con madness, here is a first glimpse at what seems to be Noah's boat from Darren Aronofsky's biblical adaptaton. Hit the jump to check it out!

Not too much is known about Darren Aronofsky's take on the bibilical journey of Noah. For the moment we're only aware of the fact that Russel Crow is set to portray the biblical patriarch in modernized Mad-Max style, the film will be based on the comic book, rather than the bible, and that Anthony Hopkins and Ray Winstone have also joined the cast. However, the director was generous enough to give us our first look at what seems to be Noah's boat. One thing's for sure, the Jaw's quote "We're gonna need a bigger boat" doesn't seem to apply here!

His name is Noah. Far from the stereotype of the patriarch that one appends the character of the Bible, he looked like a warrior. He looks like a Mad Max out of the depths of time. In the world of Noah, pity has no place. He lives with his wife and three children in a land barren and hostile, in the grip of severe drought. A world marked by violence and barbarism, delivered to the savagery of the clans that draw their reason to survive from war and cruelty.

Noah is set to sail in to cinemas March 28, 2014.

"film will be based on the comic book, rather than the bible"

There's a difference? Kinda like saying the Amazing Spider-Man is based on the comics and not the games.

They really should make more bible films. Like seriously a movie about a young David killing a lion, taking down Goliath, and then defeating saul (who eventually commits suicide) to assume the throne would be a sweet movie.

Great. Another well-polished Hollywood presentation that'll make the dipshits of the world believe more in something THAT NEVER FREAKING HAPPENED. Wonderful. As if dealing with these idiots wasn't bad enough before, now there's gonna be a whole new wave of people who think the ridiculous idea of a global flood is real.

Nice, Aronofsky. Thanks a lot. Screw you AND all your movies. Dick.

I'm sure they've got two of each of the 20,000 different species of bees in there, too. Must have a lot of canned food for two each of all 30 species of small cats and 7 species of large ones. After all, they can't eat the other animals on board, can they?

I was wondering how they were gonna write the plot and give it an antagonist, now I see there's a comic book this is being based on. Not gonna lie, I'm a little less excited now and more apprehensive since I have no idea what the comic adaptation is like.

The story of Noah is a fantastic tale that stretches the imagination and challenges/inspires those of faith. Whether you believe in the inerrancy of the Bible or not, it is a story of the ages that has never gotten old.

Anyone here that believes that this dude, Noah, managed to put 2 of EVERY ANIMAL SPECIES ON EARTH into a boat? Maybe if we were talking about animal DNA, yeah, but actual, physical animals?...Hmmmm. Can see why this is on the CBM site. Hope it's a good movie tho!

I see no one is crying NOAH is being played by a white man. I'm not racist. I'm just saying. Look where the location of where the ARC is being built. Its not England! Lol. I remember when people where pissed Idris Alba and Laurence Fishburne played a white character. Just sayin...

I say more Biblical movies would be very interesting to watch. Imagine a movie based about King David or a new Ten Commandments. There's so many possibilities you could do, even though NOAH is based off a comic book... still it's a very cool thing to see.
