In a time long past, an evil is about to be unleashed that will reignite the war between the forces of the supernatural and humankind once more. Master Gregory (Jeff Bridges) is a knight who had imprisoned the malevolently powerful witch, Mother Malkin (Julianne Moore), centuries ago. But she has escaped and is seeking vengeance. Summoning her followers of every incarnation, Mother Malkin is preparing to unleash her terrible wrath on an unsuspecting world. Only one thing stands in her way: Master Gregory.

In a deadly reunion, Gregory comes face to face with the evil he always feared would someday return. He has only until the next full moon to do what usually takes years: train his new apprentice, Tom Ward (Ben Barnes) to fight a dark magic unlike any other.

Man's only hope lies in the seventh son of a seventh son.

Meh. Looks quite unoriginal and quite average. I'll bet that it'll be the first big budget flop of 2014.

We can't get enough serious fantasy movies made. So I'm going to do my part and support this fully on opening night.

Looks above average for a fantasy film to me. To each their own, but I will give it a shot.

Looks pretty good though the fact that it's flown so low under the radar tells me this isn't going to fare well. Too looks like it might be entertaining.

It's been a long time since I read the books, I don't remember a dragon-like thing being in the first book, but it has been a while. This movie looks like it may be good, the only thing I'm sketchy about is the fact that they got a 30-something year old man to play Tom, whose a 14 year old at the start of the books, not to mention the fact if they somehow ended up adapting the whole entire saga he'll only get older. Other than that, this looks potentially entertaining, but I'm not holding my breath. I hope they did the book justice, but I won't be surprised if it ends up terrible. If it is good, then I would love to see it perform well at the box office, but the fact that they pushed it back added to the almost non-existent amount of buzz it has, I won't hold my breath.

At first I thought this was based on the Orson Scott Card novel you know as it is called Seventh Son and they even say seventh son of a seventh son in the trailer, but As I watched it I realized it can't be based on that because it is absolutely nothing like it. But it does look pretty cool either way.

I'm expecting some great humor in this film. Something that likely resembles Robert Downey Jr's attitude in Iron Man. Visuals look great. I just hope they don't look cartoony when I see it. Amazing how they got these big actors to jump in a film like this.

Theyre marketing this movie as a new, cool, intricate, edgy fantasy... but my gut tells me theyve blown their budget on appearance and that the story will give a simplistic incoherent child's tale.

I have to say that some of you peoples comments are just plain ridiculous!

How does anyone know if a movie is going to flop before it does?

This looks absolutely awesome to me, and I can't wait to see it, I love fantasy movies!!
