Guillermo Del Toro Will Direct BEAUTY AND THE BEAST
The Hellboy director will helm the movie for Warner Bros. while former Harry Potter star Emma Watson is said to be in final negotiations for a role in the live action adaptation of the classic tale.
Variety reports that Guillermo del Toro will produce AND direct Beauty and the Beast for Warner Bros. Credited as a co-writer on both instalments of their two-part adaptation of The Hobbit, he passed on the opportunity to helm those movies before the The Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson decided to take charge. The studio has also hired Bridget Jones's Diary's Andrew Davies to write the script, while Emma Watson is in final negotiations to star in the lead role. Stay tuned for more details.
