Ridley Scott Says We Could Possibly Get Three More PROMETHEUS Films Before The Next ALIEN Movie

It's true! In Ridley Scott's latest interview, he reveals that we could possibly receive three more films in the Prometheus franchise, before we switch gears back to the Alien franchise! What does this mean for Neil Blomkamp's Alien 5? Check out all the details HERE...

With Prometheus 2 scheduled to begin filming this February, director Ridley Scott revealed - in an interview with German website FilmFutter, that the Prometheus franchise will extend quite a bit before we can get back to Ripley and her adventures with the deadly Xenomorphs! How much of an extension are we talking? Well, according to Scott, we could possibly lay eyes on three more films! "Yes. But it won’t be in the next one. It will be in the one after this one or maybe even a fourth film before we get back into the Alien franchise." Ridley said referring to Prometheus' connection with the Alien films.

So, if these films were to be made, what would they consist of? Would it reveal just how the very first Xenomorph was created? Or would it go even deeper and reveal why the Engineers created the humans, and suddenly wanted to destroy them? I'm sure you have many more questions, ask do I, but the one big question a lot of people are asking is - What does this mean for Neil Blomkamp's Alien 5? Will we no longer see that?

Luckily, Ridley Scott touched up on that, and revealed that his job is to pave the path to the Alien films and answer many questions along the way. "The whole point of it is to explain the Alien franchise and to explain the how and why of the creation of the Alien itself. I always thought of the Alien as a kind of piece of bacterial warfare." He then added, "I always thought that that original ship, which I call the Croissant, was a battleship, holding these biomechanoid creatures that were all about destruction.

So, before we begin to create more storylines for the Alien creature, we must find out its origin, and everything around it! At least that's what Ridley Scott is suggesting! Will Noomi Rapace & Michael Fassbender appear in all of these films? Who knows, but I'm sure that all will be answered in due time! Are you ready to lay eyes on three more Prometheus films? I know I am! Share your thoughts in the comment section below!

I liked the first one but there doesn't need to be that many. It's just going to become a watered-down parody of itself like Star Wars.

I agree that there probably shouldn't be 4...at least not planned this far ahead. It sounds like he wants to fix the continuity between Prometheus and Alien...which I hope he does.

I know it can be done, but will it be done is another question.

@ManCalledSting

It seemingly was, but earlier in the film, they showed a statue of what appeared to be a early-form of a Xenomorph. That led everyone to believe that the creature was made beforehand, and the Xenomorph seen at the end (A.K.A. the Deacon), was just another early form. The image is below.

That's an... odd statement when Prometheus from the beginning was planned at two films.

Don't be another James Cameron, Ridley, you just revived your career with The Martian, don't set aside the rest of your life to make more sequels to something unnecessary.

3 more?! And how long is it going to take to make them?! Unless they're being filmed back to back, no thank you!

I want to see what Mr Blomkamp can do with the Alien IP.

Ridley is the best director of all time, imo.

I thought Prometheus was a decent movie, but that many more? He must have plans I guess.

Just don't make them suck please, or I'm outta here

@0megaDaGr0dd
You see thats because they replaced the original main writer Jon Spaihts (whos now writing dr strange BTW) with Damien Lindelof.

Prometheus had a cool concept but tepid execution. The script (courtesy of Lindelof...) was piss poor and the only redeeming thing about the film was the visuals and Fassbender....but, there's no need for three more films, HOW YOU GONNA TEASE THE ALIEN AND THEN DUMP IT?!

Explaining things does not always make them better.

It's good in fantasy lore like LotR or Game of Thrones.

But in science fiction horror? Sometimes knowing where the monster comes from, and why, ruins the monster.

I watched parts of the first Alien on TV yesterday. I really need to have a double feature evening with Alien and Aliens sometime soon!

What I don't neccessarily need is "the how and why of the creation of the Alien itself" explained to me.

"I liked Prometheus, it just had a really dumb script. Like...90s dumb. I don't think they should stretch this any more than they already are."

Like... 90s dumb... right. That's a criticism now?

Idk Lindelof's script was available, I've only seen the original script.
It had some good/better scenes and storylines, but had some bad/worse ones too.

The universe is rich with potential, so I'm cool with more sequels.....if the next one is good.
