Rumors have been flying around since the production of the Hobbit began that Saoirse Ronan would be featured in the trilogy. Now, the 19 year old Byzantium star clears up the rumors to her casting and tells why she couldn't commit.

"There was talks about me playing the wood elf Itaril but I had to turn it down. I was really disappointed but there were other projects I had to consider and to spend a year doing The Hobbit wouldn't have left me time for anything else."

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug hits theaters December 13th 2013.
