@flames809 You need to read the book. I don't want to spoil it. (Unless you don't mind).

@flames809 Okay. Lucy and Edmund are staying with their odious cousin Eustace Scrubb while their older brother Peter is studying for his university entrance exams with Professor Kirke, and their older sister Susan is traveling through America with their parents.

That's the reasons why the older two are not in it.

man you beat me to the punch I was about to post this.

I noticed something and I noticed this on the big display in the movie theater last night and noticed it in the trailer, but Peter and Susan are in the film? To my recollection, neither one of them go back to Narnia till The Last Battle? So why are they both in this film?

It looks amazing and seems to follow the book up to that point.

"In The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, Susan accompanies her parents on a trip to America, while Peter is being tutored by Professor Digory Kirke, and Edmund and Lucy have to stay with their relatives, the Scrubbs. Susan is considered "the pretty one of the family", which makes Lucy insecure. Lucy is strongly tempted to recite a spell which she finds in Coriakin's magic book, which will make her beautiful "beyond the lot of mortals", and she pictures a plain-looking Susan jealous of her beauty."

Ok I can understand that part in the film which you see in the trailer, but shes PHYSICALLY there as is Peter?

@flames809 It's the older children who can't return.

@claybo4131 Basically, the older ones do not appear in the book or in the film. It's just Edmund, Lucy, and their cousin, Eustace.

@destroyer Watch the trailer again, you see Susan and Peter at the 1:49 mark of the trailer, and I saw them on the poster display last night at the theater

@ claybo4131: I noticed that too... I'm guessing it's just the studio messing with the story a bit in order to bring them back for the sake of continuity and stuff. It doesn't sit well with me but I'm hoping that it's just more of a cameo or a dream or something and doesn't really change the story much.

And for the record, the actors (William Moseley as Peter Pevensie & Anna Popplewell as Susan Pevensie) have not yet been listed as officially being part of the film, despite the fact that they appear on some of the posters/displays and apparently in this trailer.

It does make me nervous though.

I checked they have been listed IN THE FILM, they have, and now someone just told me that the appearances by Peter and Susan and maybe even Jadis the White Witch are part of their "Tests" so maybe I have to dust off my old Narnia books in my bookshelves and re-read it.

I really hope this does well enough for them to make The Silver Chair, because I really love that book!

And Michael Apted is awesome!

@flames809 - it's just a rule that Aslan made up it seems. They never really explain why, they just say they are too old. I suppose you could say they are too old to be "pretending" with their little brother and sister. And *spoiler* after this one, Lucy and Edmund are too old to come back too. The Silver Chair is all about Eustace and some girl.

That said, I think this movie looks awesome. I still miss Warwick Davis as Reepicheep though...
