Joe Cornish has followed up the awesome Attack The Block with a family adventure based around Arthurian legend, The Kid Who Would Be King.

The movie stars Louis Ashbourne Serkis (son of Andy) as Alexander Elliot; a 12-year-old lad who pulls the mighty sword Excalibur from an abandoned building site and awakens the evil Morgana (Rebecca Ferguson) and her undead minions in the process.

The trailer may not appeal to everyone, but it does promise an entertainingly comedic spin on The Knights of the Round Table. Check it out below and let us know what you think.

Old-school magic meets the modern world when young Alex stumbles upon the mythical sword Excalibur. He soon joins forces with a band of knights and the legendary wizard Merlin when the wicked enchantress Morgana threatens the future of mankind.

The Kid Who Would Be King is set for release in The UK next March.

Seems like a fun movie for a family.
I love Attack the Block but the tone of this is different enough that not sure this one is for me.

Hopefully I'm wrong though.

Looks fun. Not sure if I'll pay to see it. Maybe wait for it on Netflix.

Attack The Block is an underrated classic.

Nice to see a YA film where teens are the only hope that doesn’t take itself seriously for a change.

A kids movie? BLASPHEMY!!! Dont these film makers know everything has to be mature and developed with adult sensibilities being of paramount import!? How dare they displease the masterfully cultivated palates of this sites mostly adult user base!!!

Everybody, let our voices unite and our feverishly readied snarky animated gifs be let loose upon those who would dare produce content for the vile children of the world!

Oh, goodness me. I'm sorry, I'm just not myself when I'm hungry. Well now, this movie looks kinda charming. I bet my nephew would like to see this.

I'm in. My kids'll love it. I think it looks cute. Serkis's kid looks just like him. If he can act a fraction as well as his old man, he'll be great.
