Guess Hollywood isn't afraid to dip back into the witch hunter storyline even though Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters underperformed at the box office. Deadline has the scoop, that Vin Diesel ("Saving Private Ryan") is in early negotiates to star in Breck Eisner's The Last Witch Hunter.

In the Cory Goodman ("Priest") scripted film, the protagonist is an immortal witch hunter who partners with his natural enemy, a female witch, to stop the covens of New York City from unleashing a plague on humanity. Summit is out to Diesel to play the Witch Hunter. Goodman’s script made the 2010 Black List.

Michael "Breck" Eisner, son of Disney's Michael Eisner, doesn't have a stellar filmography with his most notable films being, 2005's Sahara with Matthew McConaughey, and 2010's The Crazies with Timothy Olyphant.

Diesel on the other hand keeps his raking in the dough with his Fast & Furious franchise, with the 6th installment in the series, directed by Justin Lin, debuting later this year.

Here is Moviefone's description of the script:
The film follows the eponymous hunter of witches, one of the remaining members of a rare breed whose job is to keep the population of witches and warlocks in check. Much to the chagrin of, well, everyone, they're on the verge of experiencing a repopulation boom, and it's up the last witch hunter to prevent this from happening.
