Marvel Studios and Lucasfilm debuted several exciting teasers during Saturday's D23 presentation, but one trailer that seemed to get a bit lost in the shuffle was a brand-new sneak peek for the Willow Disney+ sequel series.

Set 20 years after the events of George Lucas and Ron Howard's original fantasy adventure, this follow-up will focus on the titular Nelwyn sorcerer (the returning Warwick Davis), his daughter (Davis real-life daughter Annabelle) and a new group of adventurers as they embark on a journey to "correct the balance" between good and evil.

Joanne Whalley will reprise her role as villain-turned-hero Sorsha from the 1988 movie, and she joins previously announced leads Ellie Bamber, Tony Revolori, Cailee Spaeny and Erin Kellyman, and Rosabell Laurenti Sellers.

In addition, Davis announced that Christian Slater (Mr. Robot, Young Guns 2) has joined the ensemble, but didn't reveal which role he'll play (his character doesn't appear in the trailer). Fans will also be delighted to see that Brownies Rool (Kevin Pollak) and Franjean (Rick Overton) will return.

Check out the trailer below, and let us know what you think.

The story began with an aspiring magician from a Nelwyn village and an infant girl destined to unite the realms, who together helped destroy an evil queen and banish the forces of darkness. Now, in a magical world where brownies, sorcerers, trolls, and other mystical creatures flourish, the adventure continues, as an unlikely group of heroes set off on a dangerous quest to places far beyond their home, where they must face their inner demons and come together to save their world.

Willow is set to premiere on November 30.

I will watch the two back to back to refresh my memory right before and then enjoy something brand new, I did try to watch Willow earlier this year I think it was but being 39, depressed, exhausted, a lot of factors led to me falling asleep. Not a boring movie at all, I love Willow. Count me excited

Man I remember the original Willow movie being like a Lord of the Rings level for me as a kid. It was a classic movie that I loved the adventure, I cared about the characters and I was terrified of the villains. As a kid I would’ve said that movie was the best action adventure film I had ever seen.

I’m interested how people perceive the original of they see it for the first time now. Hopefully look past the effects and enjoy the ride! Love Davis! Love Kilmer! To this day I still say, “you really ARE great!” And I know no one knows what I’m referencing

This looks fun.

I’m happy to see all of these fantasy adaptions. More competition means better products for everyone.

On that note, as a huge Wheel of Time book fan, it makes me sad to realize that it’s the worst fantasy adaptation currently airing. Geez they missed the mark big time. It could have been huge - epic story, strong female characters, unique and fleshed out magic system, story elements that no other fantasy universe uses (cyclical time and reincarnation). Maybe season 2 will improve due to lack of COVID delays, but my hopes are not high.

Never seen the original (plan to when the show is premiering), but I still look forward to this a lot.

Cast and premise sound great, but I'm really interested to see what Disney is gonna do with the high fantasy setting and how it differentiates itself from Netflix, Amazon and HBO.

I rewatched Willow last year. It's definitely not a GREAT film, but I love it anyway, If this show manages to tap into the same vibe it'll be a hit.

Tried reading the sequel series a couple years ago. Thought it was going to be great but it was such a hard read. Barely choked down the first one then gave up.

Fun trailer till the little thing started awkwardly doing the robot dance moves while Willow was talking to them then it reminded me that this was made by Disney. 😴
