With a little under a month to go before Willow premieres on Disney+, a new poster and 60-second sneak peek have been released by the streaming platform.

The series, based on George Lucas and Ron Howard's fantasy-adventure film, will begin streaming exclusively on Disney+ on November 30, and there's a tonne of excitement surrounding this long-overdue return to Andowyne. The original movie has become a beloved cult classic since it was released in 1988, and fans are keen to see what became of Warwick Davis' Willow Ufgood.

And yes, he does wield a flamethrower at one point here!

In Willow, the beloved Star Wars actor will be joined by Joanne Whalley (Sorsha), Ruby Cruz (Kit), Erin Kellyman (Jade), Ellie Bamber (Dove), Dempsey Bryk (Airk), Amar Chadha-Patel (Boorman) and Tony Revolori (Graydon). Christian Slater has also joined the cast in a mystery role, though Val Kilmer's Madmartigan sadly isn't expected back.

Set in a magical world where brownies, sorcerers, trolls and other mystical creatures flourish, Willow is the story of an unlikely group of heroes who set off on a dangerous quest, facing their inner demons and coming together to save their world.

Kathleen Kennedy, Michelle Rejwan, Jonathan Kasdan, Tommy Harper, Wendy Mericle, Roopesh Parekh, Ron Howard, and Samie Kim Falvey serve as executive producers. The show's writers are John Bickerstaff, Hannah Friedman, and Jonathan Kasdan, while the producers are Stephen Woolfenden, Julia Cooperman, Hameed Shaukat, and Max Taylor.

An epic period fantasy told with a modern sensibility and plenty of humour, heart, energy and vibrancy, Willow begins streaming on Disney+ on November 30. We've seen the first three episodes and will be sharing our reaction a couple of weeks from now.

Take a look at this trailer and poster (via SFFGazette.com) for Willow below.

@TheFireForce - meh, I'd argue a Willow sequel is unnecessary. It was a classic self contained fairytale.

That being said, and this being an obvious attempt yo milk a franchise out of a beloved property, I hope it's at least a loving crafted cash grab lol

I only ever liked Willow when I was a kid. It wasn't ever a favorite of mine, I never put it on but would watch when my brothers put it on. But I am looking forward to this still.

Why the modern music in the trailer. It changes the entire tone of the story.

My wife saw this and said, “Don’t F- this up”

I replied, “They’re going to F- this up.”

She said, “Why do you say that?”

My answer, “Because it’s Disney.”

Never saw the movie and this doesnt do much to gain my interest

What would be a cool movie to turn into a show is the Goonies

Get Sean Astin to have a supporting role, focus on his kid and his friends adventures. Give us occasional appearances from the rest of the gang

@dracula - The diversity will have to strong in that show.
And a girl will have to be in charge and be the smarted in the group.

@TyrantBossMedia - They'd probably have like two women and an asian and probably a fat kid and the leader would be the beta male and he'll probably have a disability but not only a small one like asthma.

I think it needs more quips in the script. Ones people have heard 100 times before should put viewers at ease.

I don't need it to be 100% strait-laced but fantasy that is embarrassed by the genre always sucks.

Idk man…..I’m not saying it’ll be bad, but I am saying y’all are getting too close for comfort to “The Princess Bride”, for my liking.

I want to know which executive said "Do you know what needs a revival? Willow." But not one of them said "Why not Halloween Town instead?"

Loved the original but something about this feels off, it’s just not grabbing me. I’ll give it a try so hopefully it’s better then what I’m thinking.
