Today sees the release of the lead track to highly anticipated 80’s action-inspired film Kung Fury. As one of the biggest Kickstarter project of all time, the crowd-funding sensation just became even hotter by locking down what can only be described as the ultimate feature: global superstar and 80’s icon David Hasselhoff performs the lead track ’TRUE SURVIVOR’
No 80’s movie would be complete without a great soundtrack, just as every movie from that era needs a real renegade hero. Kung Fury, realizing it needed both, turned back time in search of a great combination. Sometimes dreams do in fact come true; David Hasselhoff jumped on board for both the track and the music video.

The 80s was about fun, action and heroes. Kung Fury has it all! I’m honored to be involved with David Sandberg, an up and coming force of nature in the animation digital entertainment world. The song is perfect for me as I really am in real life a True Survivor, says David Hasselhoff.
The choice of Hasselhoff was obvious. Representing the core nature of the era Kung Fury sets out to portray, The Hoff was the perfect fit. Being a personal hero of David Sandbergs as well, this was a true match made in heaven.
Releasing the song and accompanying video now is a nod of gratitude towards the crowd-funding community that had invested in Kung Fury, giving them a small token of appreciation while the 30 minute short film goes through its final production stages.
Kung Fury is the brain child of David Sandberg, who left his job in pursuit of producing the best 80’s style action movie of all time. The stylistic trailer with its retro touch connected with the Kickstarter crowd-funding community, and with the help of David's compelling plea for funding, the targets were not only met, but surpassed several times over. Once a dream of David's, Kung Fury is now moving fast towards completion and becoming a reality.
Within a brief time period, Kung Fury's Kickstarter campaign motivated 18,000 movie fans to contribute $USD630.000, making it the second biggest Kickstarter film campaign of all time outside the US.
With David Hasselhoff lending his unmistakable vocals to "True Survivor', the title track to Kung Fury is released today giving ’80s style film fans reason to celebrate, and introducing a classic style of action-film to a new generation of film lovers.
The FULL Kung Fury original soundtrack is scheduled for release on May 28th, same day as the movie Kung Fury premieres on YouTube.
