Looks like the Australian VFX industry is getting some even more business, the company Iloura announced that they have been brought on to finish up the work on Nic Cage's newest film 'Ghost Rider Spirit of Vengeance'.

Here's a list of some of the productions that Iloura has done work for:
- Sanctum
- Don't Be Afraid of the Dark
- The Bank Job
- Australia
- Where the Wild Things Are
- Charlotte's Web
- House of Flying Daggers

Iloura Secures Ghost RiderTM: Spirit of Vengeance

In another win for Australia’s talented VFX industry, Iloura today announced it had been appointed as one of the VFX studios on Ghost RiderTM: Spirit of Vengeance.

Iloura’s executive producer, Simon Rosenthal, said that this project would see the studio’s continued growth in capacity as more artists join the studio to complete the 500 plus shots on the film and well as continue work on The Killer Elite and other projects.

"Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance presents us with another tremendous opportunity to work on a complex, Hollywood CG project. Being appointed as one of the studios is an acknowledgement of Iloura’s growing reputation in delivering high quality visual effects,” says Rosenthal.

This project comes on the back of Iloura’s Emmy Nominated work on HBO’s The Pacific and recent feature film projects Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark with Guillermo Del Toro as well as 3D feature film Sanctum which was executive produced by James Cameron.

Nicolas Cage returns as Johnny Blaze in Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. In the successor to the worldwide hit Ghost Rider, Johnny – still struggling with his curse as the devil’s bounty hunter – is hiding out in a remote part of Eastern Europe when he is recruited by a secret sect of the church to save a young boy (Fergus Riordan) from the devil (Ciaran Hinds). At first, Johnny is reluctant to embrace the power of the Ghost Rider, but it is the only way to protect the boy – and possibly rid himself of his curse forever. Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor direct from a screenplay by Scott M. Gimple & Seth Hoffman and Mark Neveldine & Brian Taylor, and a story by David S. Goyer, based on the Marvel Comic. Steven Paul, Ashok Amritraj, Michael De Luca, Avi Arad and Ari Arad are the producers. The executive producers are E. Bennett Walsh, David S. Goyer, Stan Lee, Mohammed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Edward Borgerding, and Mark Steven Johnson. The film will be distributed by Columbia Pictures and Hyde Park Entertainment.

This could certainly be some good news for the movie which has been controversial to say that least from the time it was announced. Iloura has done some really great work, especially in 'Where the Wild Things Are', so I definitely think this should give fanboys at least a slight glimmer of hope.

'Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance' rolls into theaters on February 17th, 2012.

At least they have a new director...

Anyway the ONLY thing I didn't like about the first one was the villains.

I think this movie will be good. Ghost Rider is one of my favoirte chacters. And if marvel where to get back all the rights to the characters to make movies they would not have enough money to make them all. I would like to see someone besides Nic Cage as Ghost Rider. Maybe they can get Jensen Ackles to play Dan Ketch for the next movie.

@juggernaut, I completely agree....the villains in the first movie were horribly cast and their acting was even worse. It could have been a good flick :-/ let's pray that the Vengeance villain is portrayed correctly in this one, else it will probably flop as well.

If that happens, we might see Nick Cage go the route of Val Kilmer and blimp up and only make straight to DVD movies lol

I enjoyed the special effects on the first Ghost Rider movie so I'm happy with this news.
Now I'm just hoping this movie has a better script.

can this effects team make Nic Cage's acting seem descent? LOL ...no...i feel like no effects team could pull off special effects for that hahhaha.
if only they did have a team that could go in an make back acting better. bwahhaha...itd be called CCCGI (correcting cage computer generated images)...or CGA (computer generated acting).

hhhmmm you guys picking up what i'm putting down?

...i think we have an untapped technology here.

Ghost Rider 2 may actually be really good. The guys that did Crank are behind it so you know the action will be badass. Now with a good CG team I think this movie may be around 10x better than Fist Ass. I would rather see this than that shit anyway. Also Nic Cage has a bad rap when actually he is quite a decent actor.
