Nicholas Cage Sells Us All On GHOST RIDER: SOV

Nicholas Cage Sells Us All On GHOST RIDER: SOV

Watch the following video interview (which also contains new snippets of footage) with Cage and try to contain the urge to run to your theater to see the Ghost Rider follow up..

No, I'm not being sarcastic! The reviews may be pretty dire for Nevaldine and Taylor's follow up to Ghost Rider, but the beautiful man in the video below has convinced me to go see it anyway. Speaking to Total Film about reprising the role of Johnny Blaze, Cage describes Ghost Rider as a "philosophical superhero". He goes on to talk about the perception of him as a big comic fan but clarifies that he is not "sitting up till 4am with a box of Spider-Man comics and a tray of lemon cookies"..

Who else wants to see Cage as President one day? Aside from posting this vid Total Film also posted their two star review of the movie..which seems to pretty much represent the majority. There are a few positive reviews out there however, the most surprising of them coming from the usually quite harsh Playlist. They describe the movie as a "metal album in cinematic form" and go on to say: "Neveldine and Taylor manage to achieve a sleek b-movie action-horror mashup where most Hollywood hacks would need a trilogy. Dodgy 3D aside (inconsequential, for the most part), "Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance" is one of the year's early surprises". They give it a B. Just one example to illustrate that not everything said about GRSOV is negative. Just most of it! Silly load of nonsense or simply misunderstood? Will you go see the movie to find out?

I love watching Nicholas Cage completely talk out of his ass in every interview he is in

Nick is just so desperate for comic book movie attention, he tries WAY to hard in over analyzing a D list comic book character, who quite frankly, no one really cares about

huh. Well. This is encouraging. I couldn't see the vid but I think I get the gist.

Ghost Rider is such an awesome character. To me the allure of seeing Ghosty on the big screen is strong, even if the movie is cruddy.

I watched PWZ even though I knew way ahead of time that it would blow.

Maybe I'll give it a shot just for the heck of it.

"Since when has Ghost Rider been 'a metaphor for the mistakes we all make in life'? "

When Cage is speaking about his involvement in this movie except it's definately NOT metaphorical..

i liked the way the rider looked and the effects in the action scenes were pretty good. but it was just a god awful movie. there really isn't any getting around it. popcorn movie, b-movie, silly cagefest, whatever you want to call it. any way you slice it, it just stunk. there's a difference between tempering one's standards and just not having any.
