G.I. JOE: M.A.R.S. Troopers Revealed

Well, THEY look cool. Too bad the rest of the cast look like S.W.A.T. members. Oh yea, Snake Eyes looks decently good and Baroness is hot.

But, if they're looking for these guys to be their saving grace, they better go recount those beans. Because this just isn't going to cut it. I have had extremely high hopes for this movie since I first heard about. But mere moments after hearing about it, I heard a BUNCH of shyte which completely discredited this movies worth.

I will, of course, see it. As a fan. But I am not holding any bar too high for this one. These guys do look pretty cool though.

Bumblebee was a Camaro, not a Mustang. AND Transformers was based on the toy, not the cartoon or comics. Transformers the movie, was freakin' sweet.

I'm not judging by a pic, i'm judging by pictures, script choices, titles, character/actor choices, uniforms, a review of the unfinished trailer, news from insiders, etc etc. Not just from pics.


Destro had his Iron Grenadiers. Voltar, General Mayhem, Metal-Head, Darklon, T.A.R.G.A.T.s, Ferrets, Nullifiers, Annihilators, Wild Boars, Undertows, and Iron Anvils. The only picture thus far of Destro is WITHOUT his mask.

Cobra Commander is being played by that kid from 3rd rock from the sun. Which I don't and probably won't ever understand. At least until I see this movie. Which will actually probably make me more confused...

M.A.R.S. is Destro's families money tree. It's not just made up for the movie.

Yea, can't wait for the screwed up Thundercats, Silverhawks, Tiger Sharks, Bionic Six, Inhumanoids, Brave Starr and Spiral Zone movies. Those should be awesome...Of course, the only thing on that list that will EVER see the light of the Big Screen is Thundercats. So help me God, if they screw THAT one up. I'm done with cartoon-based movies for good.

If you can't get something simple like GI Joe correct, how in the HELL do you expect to get Thundercats done properly. Just doesn't seem plausible does it?

80's cartoons are the SHIZNITTLEBANG! with the exception of a few...and those cartoons I absolutely dig from the 60's and 70's like Fantastic Four, Spiderman, Space Ghost (before the twins and that damned monkey), Herculoids, Superfriends, Birdman, Secret Squirrel and Johnny Quest. I'm sure there's a few more...But I forget them...

Chris O'Donnell? Really? I mean, before Batman he did tons of good stuff...But, seriously? Eh, it could work. I seriously don't want Hugh Jackman OR Brad Pitt in it. Too A-List...As for Vin Diesel, it could be his comeback into pop culture, I think Babylon AD looks sweet, haven't seen it yet though. But I don't know if I like him as Panthro, I don't know what it is about him, something just doesn't fit. Maybe it's the fact that Panthro is the guy who builds all this awesome stuff for the Thundercats, and I can't see Vin in that sort of technically saavy role. Is it just me?

Agreed, it should NOT be a starfest, as comic book and cartoon adaptations should NEVER be, it takes away from who they are portraying because it always comes out as "Oh, wasn't Patrick Stewart awesome as Professor Xavier?" instead of "Wasn't Professor X awesome in the X-Men movie?" Don't get me wrong, Patrick Stewart was AWESOME as Charles Xavier, there wasn't ANYONE else who could have done that role and he is BY FAR one of the best actors around and one of my personal favorites. The guy has now portrayed 2 of the most iconic roles in pop culture. He is a Shakespearian trained professional stage actor of the highest caliber, yet one of his ALL-TIME favorite shows is "Beavis and Butthead". That is freakin' AWESOME! That just makes the guy like 100 times cooler instantly.

CC is Joseph Gordon-Levitt, yea, look that up and try and picture him as Cobra Commander...It just doesn't seem to work...No matter how much time under the hood he spends...He's still Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

I think, for roles like that, you should NEVER see the persons face and in the credits it should say something like

"Cobra Commander Himself"

Come on though Super Cuban, they do look cool. To me, it's the coolest thing that has been released about this movie. I just am really anticipating the trailer. Not that it's going to make or break me, I just want to see it. Because i'm going to see the movie, regardless, whether I am shamefully the only person in the theatre or not...

just to clarify i wasnt bashing 80's cartoons, i am huge fan of transformers, gi joe, voltron, thundercats, he-man, silverhawks, jayce and the wheeled warriors (which would be an awesome movie), and especially tranzor Z (if anyone knows where i can get a copy of tranzor z let me know), these are all great. I was simply saying that the movies need to seperate themselves from some of the elements of the cartoons otherwise they wont sell and then they will cease to be. i dont want to go back to a world where the only live action spiderman i get to see is on the electric company after mr rogers.

I stopped following GIJOE after the last issue of the original series, so I don't know anything about them wearing what looks like a glorified S.W.A.T. uniform. I do know that the Transformers was badass, and they use (usually) the first vehicle they see, that fits they're name and place on the team. Bumblebee shouldn't have been a beetle (thank God he wasn't) because that's lame. It was 2007, not freakin' 1985. Let it go. I thought the Camaro was bad as shit and I HATE the color yellow. But it looked good and worked.

Besides, the kid would have NEVER bought a damn beetle, it's just not the right era for that one Fearless.

Those toys do look pretty sweet. HISSTANK.COM is an awesome site. If you get a chance to check it out, look for the custom GI Joe headquarters and the Custom Terrordrome. Those things are BADASS. I mean this guy made a complete GI Joe HQ that's 35.5 FT LONG! It takes up the guys entire basement, it has hangars and towers and jails and kennels and workout facilities, hospital rooms, bunk rooms etc etc etc. The thing is ENORMOUS and awesome.

The Terrordrome isn't quite as big, it only being something like 8.5 front to back, side to side, but it's just as freakin' cool. And they were made from styrofoam coolers. Freakin' sweet.

Brendan Fraser is Gung Ho. BULLSHYTE! What kind of convoluted casting is that?!

Gabrielle Union; Not at all a bad choice. Angela Bassett is awesome, 5 years ago, 10 years ago, or today.

I agree though, Tygra is kind of hard for casting purposes. I just can't seem to link up with anyone who fits that role well...I'll have to search around for that one.

Be warned....Mysterious Skin contains the most disturbing scene i've ever seen in my life. I actually had to cover my eyes.....THEN my ears during the shower scene....ROR you know what i'm talking about. In my opinion Levitt is the best actor of his generation. He was phenomenal in Brick, Mysterious Skin, The Lookout, and Shadowboxer. And I swear I've been waiting to see Killshot (a movie thats been in post production) for about 5years.

I too tho don't think this is a good role for him, but he's proved me wrong before.

Not comicbook related, but amazing NON-STOP film! Everytime you think the movie has peaked, they take it higher. I've recommened it so many times and EVERYONE has come back to me and said, "How have I never heard of this?" Definitely worth the rental, even purchase.

stormshadow is a sad fact... thats to say that we will hope and wait to see if he dawns the ninja suit. Storm shadow should be older. The whole Goddam cast should be older. .... maybe i dunno this movie has me sooooo confused. I know one thing for sure, i want the individual characters to have individual costumes. They should be rebels within a unit. They should taylor their own suits or outright deny the new ones. Mars troopers are rippoffs of Empires Snow Troopers. Even if this movie is good it still fails the GIJOE fans who inevitably are the ones who even made this movie a reality. Without our support this would not even have been written. I want my Stormshadow in a white ninja suit. I dont want to ever see his face and i was a snake eyes without Gap wool cargo pants and 20 dollar walmart Commando boots on.. Every ASpect of this film is questionable at best. Imagine if it hit on all marks, the only reason it doesnt is cuz the writers and directors have no imagination. And Running Scared is a great movie and one to own for sure. Vin Diesel is the perfect Panthro fo sho...

I have seen the Running Scared with Billy Crystal and Gregory Hines, but not the new one. I've wanted to so many times, but it keeps slipping my mind. So i'm going to write it down and make sure the next time I come across it, i'll grab it.

I'm not denying Joseph Gordon-Levitt's talent. Because he has it for sure. But as Cobra Cmdr. I don't think so. That's just me though. Yea, Storm Shadow in that rip-off Jedi uniform with the white Reebok's on...WTF is that?!

Anyway, Ving Rhames for sure, no Vin Diesel. He sucks. Except for A Man Apart and Pitch Black. OH, and Boiler Room, that movie was awesome.
