Official Synopsis:

Britt Reid (Seth Rogen), son and heir to Los Angeles’ largest newspaper fortune, is a rich, spoiled playboy who has been happy to maintain a direction-less existence. When his father James Reid (Tom Wilkinson) dies, Britt meets an impressive and resourceful company employee, Kato (Jay Chou). They realize that they have the resources to do something worthwhile with their lives and finally step out of James Reid’s shadow. Kato builds the ultimate weapon, The Black Beauty, an indestructible car with every weapon imaginable and Britt decides that in order to be heroes, they will pose as villains. With the help of Britt’s new secretary, Lenore Case (Cameron Diaz>), they learn that the chief criminal in the city is named Benjamin Chudnofsky (Christoph Waltz). He has united all the gangs under his power, and he quickly sees that the Green Hornet is a direct threat to the prosperous criminal underworld he controls.

The Green Hornet opens January 14, 2011!

You know after FIST A$$ news, any of these superhero movies sound great, even this and CONAN! : P

Nah, looks good as long as they don't [frick] it up with too much comedy!

Deadpool72 - I won't even wait for that! Without even seeing the film or hearing/reading a review, let me be the first to say, "I TOLD YOU SO!" - YES, I'm THAT confident the movie will BLOW!!! It's Seth @#$!-ing Rogen in a super-hero role, for christ's sake!

I think it looks good, and rogen seems a bit more of a realistic superhero to me. He's got generation Y written all over him, I think it's just gonna be a less violent 'kick ass' just in a different setting with different characters. It is based on a 'comic' book after all, so I think that humour should be encouraged. Not everything should be dark and gritty, I think that possibly the Dark Knight has ruined fanboys perceptions of how a CBM should be made. If we look at all the modern day 'celebs' who have been born into money we're not gonna find Bruce Wayne we're gonna find Paris Hilton and I think Rogen is embodying that. I really hope this film goes well because clearly Iron Man, Kick-ass and Scott Pilgrim vs the World weren't enough to show that comedy in CBMs works really well.

I am going to see this in the cinema. Rogan Wasn't my first choice to play the Green Hornet either but Jay Chou seems like he could be really good in this. I like Christoph Waltz as well. If he is anything like Hans Landa aka The Jew Hunter in this movie then that will be sweet.

I guess the reason for some of the comedy is to distance itself far away from any batman-begins similarities (really stretching it here).... Seth means well and he seems to profess a love for the character.... a part of me wishes it was Aaron Eckhart for the role of Britt Reid or maybe even Mark Valley....

Yeah this is a slap to the face of the original character and I've even researched the original radio dramas from 1936 and watched a couple of the 1940's film serials. Hornet was always rather dark and serious so yeah, fans should rightfully be upset about this interpretation.

This is how you do a Green Hornet film btw:
