Thanks to MTV Splash Page's "Twitter Report", we can now see what some of comics greatest writers and artists thought about the Green Lantern trailer which was revealed here on CBM last night. If you've spotted any other opinions from famous faces on Twitter, be sure to share them in the usual place!

@PaoloMRivera I agree. Green Lantern should look like Tron but instead it looks like My Super Ex-Girlfriend.
-Paul Azaceta

I keep thinking the Green Lantern movie mask makes Ryan Reynolds look like Ben Stiller. LOL.
-Michael Cho

Dear Green Lantern trailer, you SO could have been the Right Stuff meets Star Wars, but you look like Hot Shots! meets Stealth.
-Brian Denham

Hoping people would catch that! RT @wombat1974 @GeoffJohns0 nice Sapphire logo on Carol's helmet there, Mr Johns.
-Geoff Johns

Wife liked the GREEN LANTERN trailer. That usually means the comic book movie's good. And, you know, that we'll get a babysitter to see it.
-Neil Kleid

Just watched Green Lantern trailer. Looks GREAT! This movie will do very, very well. OA looks awesome. What're the gripes about??
-Rob Liefeld

Confused by Green Lantern trailer hate. Have the haters never read Green Lantern comic? It's about Ryan Reynolds firing green CGI effects.
-Tim Seeley

@ThatKevinSmith Via @mswift44 "what do you think of the Green Lantern trailer?" Kilowog, Tomar Re, Sinestro... Looks like Martin Campbell done good. I'm in.
-Kevin Smith

I don't mind Carol being a pilot. Just not sure about her directly competing with Hal.
-Thomas Zahler

Green Lantern is set to be released in 3D on June 17, 2011!

I couldnt disagree more. Green Lantern does not suppose to look like tron. I guess since Tron has glowing lights its suppose to be like tron. Tron has nothing but a black background with a bluish hue that is not Green lantern

After next year, Marvel is through.. DC conquers..

"the suit is literally a body wrap...and breathes with him..f--kin amazing!!! it looks awesome!"

Prefer a costume more. The CGI suit looks to fake..

Its a trailer. We saw the immense 'potential'. Green Lantern will deliver next summer.
The CGI isn't even halfway done, its still in development. With 150 millon dollars, WB/DC will create the CGI.
I cant believe people are on and on about the CGI looks terrible. As we clearly saw in the trailer, the CGI at some parts have been done really good while others lack thereof. Why? I dont know actually. I dont know why they did release the trailer in such a short time before the flick is done. I do not doubt for a second that the CGI will look even more breathtaking when it premiers. It will be visually a stunning film and with a lot of serious moments.
I was blown away completely by the trailer!

Its gonna be emerald green next summer!

BMP!

there are two takes on the Green Lantern's ring projections- the well defined ones many were used to seeing in animation in the 80's, and the emerald flame based ones. if the flame based less defined version is the one we see in the pic , it will leave much to be desired- this is probably what Paul Azeceta's referring to. not the biggest fan of the suit but hoping the movie tears the house down to make way for the Flash to speed in!

Marvel will rule 2011 but Green Lantern will still be [frick]ing awesome based on my opinion of the trailer. They've got plenty of time to sort out the few not so great looking CGI moments and if nothing else, I think it might just be the most unique CBM of next year. I especially look forward to it kicking X-Men: First Class' teeth in come June. :)

I don't understand why there are SOOOO many people that have to hate on this movie?!? I know we live in a society of arm chair bloggers that would rather critisize and tear something down than build something up, but at least TRY to look at this logically. Hal Jordan is a cocky, fearless ex-air force turned test pilot. He fears nothing, except for the death of his father when he was a child and the distance he's created with his family. Abin Sur crashes down on Earth, the ring searches out a man of great will power and the ability to overcome fear. Hal is inducted into the GL Corps, he trains under Kilowog first, then more specialized training under Sinestro. THAT IS SEEN IN THE TRAILER AND THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENS IN THE CURRENT GEOFF JOHNS "GREEN LANTERN: SECRET ORIGIN"!! The only REAL change to the story here is that instead of having Hector Hammond gain his psychic abilities from a meteor rock from Abin's ship, he is possessed and corrupted by Parallax, which probably IS NOT a bad thing seeing as they're constructing this to be a 3 movie trilogy story. We have 7 months until GL hits theaters, so they are OBVIOUSLY still working on the cgi and special effects. People NEED to realize that the heart of the story IS THERE. We got Hal Jordan. He's going to have the ability to overcome fear. He's going to have his strong will power. He's going to be fighting Parallax. WHAT MORE DO PEOPLE REALLY WANT?!?!?!
kryptonfan87
kryptonfan87 - 11/17/2010, 1:45 PM
And as far as the suit goes: Look at the current Green Lantern comics. Minus the white gloves, the suit is the EXACT same design as it is in the comics. Granted, there is more of an organic texture to it, but look at it this way: In the comics, the suit is generated by the ring and IT GLOWS!!!! Unless you want to see them use the same material they used in Superman The Movie (1978) with the Kryptonian council, then you really can't complain. I was apart of the collective that did not like the suit when I first saw it back in July, but now that we've been given a clearer view of it and seeing how it plays into the story of the Green Lantern movie, I really like it now.

All I'm saying is that this is the first time we're going to be seeing this character in any form of a live-action medium, so we should be damn appreciative of what we're getting, and I think that it's spot on to the comics. I say pick up a couple of the current GL stories, like Secret Origin, Sinestro Corps War, or Green Lantern Rebirth, and you will see that Martin Campbell has stayed very, VERY true to the true essence of the character and what he has become

u probably think tetris has high end graphics as well, rite?
get some glasses mate.

@Angelus
cut the bullcrap. show me a single trailer which was ever released which basically had unfinished special effects in it???? it doesnt happen. sure its going to be polished up a little but no way to redeem what they put out. even if they did...whats the point of advertising with shit cgi?

@kryptofan
pull ur head out of ur arse and realise there is more to a film than a superficial storyline and "some cgi". what most people are criticizing is the sub-par cgi work. its bad. just live with it. and no they are not going to completely redo most of it. thats just not how hollywood works.

Remember how "video game" like the CGI was in the first avatar trailer, but how incredible the visuals were on the big screen?? Same thing applies here. This movie will have amazing special effects that they said they couldn't even have done TWO YEARS AGO. That means top notch special effects are being put into this. Calm down people. Once its up on the big screen, it will be epic

I think the hate especially when it is merely just a trailer is way over reaction above and beyond.

I really do think that some of these people don't understand anything about the Green Lantern. I am not sure if it's because they have no idea what the Green Lantern is like or what his powers are like based on reading comics you don't understand that the "costume" he wears as the Green Lantern unlike the costume worn by pretty much every other superhero isn't a costume. It is something completely made up in his head. So when you do a live action version of the Green Lantern and have the ability to do special effects you are stupid if you try and put him into a costume like you would for every other Super Hero Movie.

There seem to be 3 types of people here:

1. The Haters
2. The Lovers
3. The wait & sees

I'm a wait & see. But I understand the camps ... The Marvel camp are (in general) the haters. The DC camp are (in general) the lovers **And if you talked about Thor, that would reverse**

WRT this trailer, the goods out-weigh the not so goods. The green in the uniforms seems a little day-glo and the mask and collars look CGI - BUT they'll make them work. Lively is the only thing I'd be concerned about, she seems out of her depth and really really young but...I'll wait and see. She could be stellar.

I liked it, but some things, seem out of place. I wonder with all these negative comments if they will have reshoots. WB is probably worried right now. I didn't like some of Ryan Reynolds acting, some of it seemed low budget and too cornball, but most of it was great that I saw in the trailer. When he's acting serious, he's great.

what a surprise geoff johns likes it.

they should ask stan lee see what thinks.

i don't hate it i want it to be amazing, but its not amazing yet just good.

i think it needs some reshoot's maybe everything blake lively has shot.

i'm gonna watch it because of sinestro, mark strong is a great actor.

you guys should read the comments on youtube & first showing. net they're not good,i'd say 80% of the comments on first showing.net are bad.

i have read the comments on firstshowing and it prove some of them never read the comics. or they want every comic book movie to be like TDK.

@LEEE777

i know alot of people really do have short memories

never read the comics or wanting it to be like the dark knight, could be part of the problem.

but i think another problem is it gonna appeal to the genral public, they're gonna want more than just comic fans going to see this movie.

SecretWarrior - 11/17/2010, 3:24 PM
why all the ryan reynolds hate? Didnt they say in interviews that Hal starts off a cocky jerk adn is humbled by becoming a GL? What we're seeing is his immature side B4 he gets serious.

Also, did anyone else notice that he Says "THE RING SAID" its a great responsibility?

I could be wrong but after the jeep jumps the bridge, I think he says the ring said. Would that be the first confirmation that the ring will talk in the film?

I don't know about the Ben Stiller thing, but that mask does look so WEIRD.
I know it's the classic style, but I think they should have gone bold on this one and maybe stolen the original Kyle Rayner mask, that blocky one. Or maybe fused both.
