In a universe as vast as it is mysterious, a small but powerful force has existed for centuries. Protectors of peace and justice, they are called the Green Lantern Corps. A brotherhood of warriors sworn to keep intergalactic order, each Green Lantern wears a ring that grants him superpowers. But when a new enemy called Parallax threatens to destroy the balance of power in the Universe, their fate and the fate of Earth lie in the hands of their newest recruit, the first human ever selected: Hal Jordan.

Hal is a gifted and cocky test pilot, but the Green Lanterns have little respect for humans, who have never harnessed the infinite powers of the ring before. But Hal is clearly the missing piece to the puzzle, and along with his determination and willpower, he has one thing no member of the Corps has ever had: humanity. With the encouragement of fellow pilot and childhood sweetheart Carol Ferris (Blake Lively), if Hal can quickly master his new powers and find the courage to overcome his fears, he may prove to be not only the key to defeating Parallax…he will become the greatest Green Lantern of all.

Very cool marketing move. Doubt it'll get people to see it, but pretty clever nonetheless.

The movie just opened in Brazil, i´ll watch it this saturday on teathers. My expectations were lowered but still, I actually liked the "Phantom" and "the Shadow" movies back then.

I just saw the movie this week and it should have been called "bored lantern" or something, I can't believe that the animated version (Green lantern first flight) was like a million times better!!!

Very cool for bikes, not cool for the Brazilian fans about to be disappointed lol. Maybe the acting will better in a different language.

Do they usually dub American movies for international release or use sub-titles? Anyone?

Marvel Fans are just pissed that "Linterna Verde" was more faithful to the comics than ANY of their Marvel films.

Sure, the plot wasn't great, the fighting sequences were few, Lively couldn't act her way out of a ripped paper bag, the edition was bad and the SFX weren't all that, but the movie was still fun and VERY VERY much like the books. Kilowog and Sinestro quote some of the comics (Secret Origin and Emerald Dawn) diaogue word for word.

Sure, the script was more fit for an Animated film (this should've been First Flight) than a live action film, but it's fun to watch instead of that dreadfully boring WW2 Yay america Crap fest, captain america, with NON-existing fight scenes and crappy red skull make up.

Back on topic, Great idea, wish they'd done that in my city!

@Gusto: Dude, the only CBM that's been epic in all the sense of the word is TDK. Not even Batman begins! And even in TDK We see Bruce crying over that Rachel character, something Batman would NEVER do! When have you see batman cry over a chick in the comics?!

Bottomline, It was badly made, but it was faithful to the source material. Period. Marvel fans wont know that cuz they've got they're heads up Stan Lee's butt.... lol. Seriously, though. It's like I said that Thor was the best/worst movie ever If I've never read the comics. I mean the best scene was when he hammers the ground and everything blows up, and that was IN the trailer!
