Special thanks for CBM's Greengo for the heads up
Nick Jones Jr. is a relatively unknown actor who was bestowed the honor of being John Stewart in Ryan Reynold's superhero flop. The ex-marine has been in only a handful of films, in bit parts. Nick is a big comic book fan, and was excitedly doing interviews for
Green Lantern expecting to see his brief appearance as a pre-superhero John Stewart.
Maybe it was good that his scenes were cut, so that the film didn't ruin two versions of
Green Lanterns. Would I have liked to have seen a John Stewart cameo? Yes, and it doesn't surprise me that they cut the Easter egg since that movie made bad decision after bad decision. At least the movie was consistently bad.
Maybe they can reboot the franchise and approach it from the perspective of John Stewart, Kyle Rayner, or Guy Gardner. That would be the best way to make the moviegoers of the world forget the stinker that Martin Campbell inflicted upon them.

BRANDON JONES: Nick, it’s a pleasure to talk to you again. Let me begin by clearing the air on a tough topic because it’s got to be frustrating when your screen time in “Battle:LA” and “Green Lantern” seemed to vanish. Tell us how working on these two blockbusters helped you as an actor.
NICK JONES: That’s fine, it was a little disappointing at first but when I took a step back to see the big picture I was reminded how blessed I am to be where I am today. I remember dressing as Tony the Tiger when I first jumped into acting so I understand that this is an uphill grind. I’m prepared for that and I welcome the challenge. One of my favorite quotes is from Barack Obama, “I never expected to be here. I always knew this journey was improbable. I’ve never been on a journey that wasn’t.” What I get most from that quote is to always stay positive and to also know what you’re getting yourself into. I think working on those two particular projects helped me most with my professionalism. I need to be able to hold my own with actors I grew up watching and admiring. Something I thought I couldn’t do at first because I’m a fan at heart. It’s hard not to nerd out at times. Now I have that comfort level and confidence. The more I do in this business the more it will help me to create my own presence and that’s a major key to success.
BBJ: Any word whether we’ll see Nick Jones Jr as John Stewart on the “Green Lantern” DVD, a deleted scene perhaps.
NICK JONES: I’m a huge fan of Easter eggs and I know this film originally planned a bunch of them. Hopefully they all make it into the Director’s cut.
