SuperHeroHype attended the Cinema Vanguard Award at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival Friday night and talked to both Sarsgaard amd Christoph Waltz about their upcoming roles as the villains in both Green Lantern and Green Hornet..
When they caught up with Sarsgaard they quizzed him about playing villain Dr. Hector Hammond in the Martin Campbell-directed Green Lantern, starring Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively. Hammond is a pathologist who becomes infused with psychic powers when he discovers a meteor.
Peter Sarsgaard confirmed that Green Lantern shooting will start in March.
When asked if his character will look similar to the Hector Hammond in comics. He action-ed zipping his mouth.
Then said this "I don't know,"but added "[it's]going to be fantastic."
[Hector Hammond in comics.]
When asked how is it like working with Tim Robbins again.
"He gave me my first job - 'Dead Man Walking,'" Sarsgaard said.
"I think he looks at me like I'm this young guy that was in this movie. I think you're always that to someone. I look at him like he was the guy that gave me my first job and I have immense respect for him. He does not feel like an equal to me. He feels like a God. He's a lot taller than I am." Tim Robbins is playing Senator Hammond father of Sarsgaard's character.
I'm just happy that this is really happening. Hopefully DC make more of their more famous Superheroes(Wonder Woman, Flash, etc...)
