Selina Kyle Reviews Green Lantern

Selina Kyle Reviews Green Lantern

Usually i dont post reviews or bother with them but considering how polarizing this movie has been this week, i decided to make an exception. However, this is not your typical review.

I just got back from seeing Green Lantern and i decided to do a video review. Yes i know you dont want to watch me whine about this movie but i didn't feel like writing a review, plus i just discovered the video camera on my mac so yeah...

I wanted this movie to actually prove the critics wrong. I wanted it to be a situation where it was good despite all the negative reviews it had gotten so far. But i wasn't impressed and i expressed why in the video.

I don't have a problem with this being on main. But I do have a problem with "I's" not being capitalized...

Kidding, of course.

naterator - 6/17/2011, 10:38 PM
i do plan to see the movie tomorrw....cant wait and therefore am trying not to let any of thses reviews get to me. I try to see the positive in everything sooooo....even if GL doesnt do as well as i hope plot wise then they have lots of time to fix it in sequels and sequels is the way to go instead of rebooting......IMHO rebooting is just a cop put instead of just movieng forward and trying to make someting creative and better out of a mess that was created. ....and to reboot is also another way of showing everyone that you just wasted a ton of money on a previous effort. just keep it going forward and make it better as you go. No to a reboot.

I just got back from seeing this movie and I thought they did a great job...they did Hal proud...what is all this negative crap about this movie???...the CGI suit worked and was well explained...there could have been a little more smoothing out of the story but hopefully there will be a directors cut of it to help that out...All the Lanterns that had speaking roles were dead on for their character...I can't wait for there to be a second...hopefully before JLA...it needs it...the yellow ring scene with Sinestro was a perfect although expected easter egg...

Hey , i liked the movie it is what it is a popcorn movie with bad editing kinda like the xmfc debacle with mystique trying to find love and a total flub on all things xmen ,but we all have thoughts ,just wait for the directors cut .

yeah bad script and editing was its downfall. the way the scenes were cut was so ridiculous.

I personally enjoyed hearing a review from someone that's not a total "fanboy". I'm still going to go see the movie, even though there seems to be nothing but bad reviews, in hopes that enough box office returns will get a sequel & it will get better from there. This was a very refreshing take on a review, and at least I won't walk into the movie with my hopes too high. Hollywood really needs to learn that a great story and great script makes for a great CBM and stop half assing it. If they don't, these movies will eventually cease to make any revenue, and the CBM fans will ultimately suffer.

i disagree with you when you said there is no character development. this was the green lantern origin story. they gave great character development for hal, carol, and hector. this was not about the corps. the corps was introduced but didnt need to have much more development. the original green lantern comic didnt even introduce the corps or even sinestro until later on in the series. i do agree that it was cut and edited poorly. i'm sure the sequel will be much better with new writers and will have some more development of characters that were introduced in the first movie such as kilowog and sinestro. people on this site praise thor. i thought the only good point in thor was the first 20 minutes. once they went to earth i thought the movie was horrible and the acting was just as bad. thats my opinion though.

THIS MOVIE WAS EPIC!!! i dont understand everyone's frustration with this. i am a devoted reader and this movie was the closest comic book movie that was made after the original material. this was so much better than that crappy xmen first class movie.

Can't really disagree with what you said, although I did enjoy the movie to an extent. But the silver lining with this, is that if it does get a sequel, all of this is incredibly fixable if they hire better writers and probably another director.

@ bryanvman i agree with you a 100% xmen first class was like watching broke back mountain, the mutant version.

bryanvman - 6/17/2011, 11:19 PM
it completely contradicts all the other xmen films. i have a channel on youtube where i analyze it my channel is bryanfreakinvaughn

ill check it out. i agree though. and the only good xmen movie was x2.the rest sucked. like at the end they start the school. then in the first xmen movie the end of the movie they are starting the school and they are like 40 years older already. so which one is it. did they start it when they were in their early 20's or when they are in their 50's?

GREEN LANTERN was a beautiful movie!

True to the comic, no Guy Gardner tho, not even an F'ing cameo and it should have been much longer... like THOR!

But both much better than First Class easy!

Bring on THE FLASH and all the other DC Heroes!
