Tyrese Gibson Says He Still Has A Shot To Be GREEN LANTERN

Green Lantern is likely to be introduced into the DCEU in Justice League Part Two...maybe. That gives Tyrese Gibson three years to land the role and go on to star in the Green Lantern Corps movie.

According to Tyrese Gibson, there's still hope for him to land the role of Green Lantern in Warner Bros.' DCEU.  According to producer Charles Roven, Green Lantern might show up in Justice League Part Two (June 14, 2019), otherwise, the DC Comics superhero will have to wait until the Green Lantern Corps movie, which doesn't hit theaters until June 19, 2020.  While appearing on Larry King's talk show, Gibson addressed the start of his campaign for the role, his meeting with WB executives and the chances that he lands the role.

"You know how they have fan-made kind of things online? A fan did this image of me as the Green Lantern.  A fan. And I was like, 'Woah, that looks cool.' And I posted it on my Instagram, and it just went crazy — over 1,500 sites. And it was just all of this buzz, and I was like I might as well run with this thing. And I did. Pissed the people off, a little bit, at Warner Brothers because they thought that I had convinced the world that I had landed the role, which I didn't. And I said, "If you go down my timeline, at no point did I say the role is mine." But, you know, there have been other artists, actors and actresses who have put up images of them as a comic book character and ended up landing a role. So I was like, it's worth giving it a shot.  I did meet with Warner Brothers, though.  And...um...shoot me a prayer, Larry.  I would love it. I've taken the oath. I would love to do it. "

Would you want to see Gibson cast as John Stewart in a Green Lantern Corps movie?  For that matter, it's uncertain how WB will tackle the property, though the title of the film suggest that there will be other Lanterns besides Hal Jordan taking the oath this time around.  While Stewart seems like a lock for inclusion, could Guy Gardner, Kyle Rayner and Simon Baz also appear?

Nope. I'm pretty sure Warner Bros. is going to go with someone who can actually act. Like Nate Parker, who happens to be a critically acclaimed actor, director, writer, and producer. Just like Affleck.
