One of the great things about following Andy Park on Twitter is that you know at some point he'll release a piece of concept art from a Marvel film that he has worked on that you've never-seen-before. Over the past several weeks, Andy has released a few more pieces of artwork that he designed for James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy. Below, you can view an early character design for Ronan the Accuser (Lee Pace), key frame art of the climactic air-battle over Xandar and concept art of Xandarians.

From Marvel, the studio that brought you the global blockbuster franchises of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers, comes a new team—the Guardians of the Galaxy. An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel's “Guardians of the Galaxy” expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits—Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand—with the galaxy's fate in the balance.

Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy,” stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, featuring Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, with John C. Reilly, Glenn Close as Commander Rael and Benicio del Toro as The Collector. James Gunn is the director and the story is by Nicole Perlman and James Gunn, with screenplay by James Gunn.

Marvel hired the right guys as concept artists with Charlie Wen and Andy Park...

Both of them were responsible for majority of the God Of War franchise.

Go find the art book for God of War 2 and be amazed....

Interesting... The final design is Great but I feel they could've benefited a lot from incorporating some of this design into the character.

Still Awesome!

I like the movie version better, wish Ronan had more screen time though, that was the only real flaw in GOTG for me

It's like he watched Transformers Revenge of the Fallen before he drew this.

as much as GotG was great and awesome and funny, Ronan was a bad villain (not developped enough)

I guess the argument can be that Ronan seemed more like a Space Pirate in GOTG than a member of the Accuser Corps. I would like to see him developed and his backstory explained more in a future film. Maybe he will show up in Inhumans

The scene of him getting dressed in the beginning reminded me of the "the royal penis is clean" scene in Coming to America.

To people who say Ronan was underdeveloped clearly don't realise that he's more developed than Darth Vader in the original Star Wars.

@nailbiter111 what are you saying? Ronan had sufficient build up to where the character wasnt seen as wholly evil. He was driven of his hate of thanos and his religious views of his people. Darth also had 6 movies to have him understood.

It was downright disrespectful that he was defeated by a dance off. Clearly don't take the villains seriously if a major galactic threat is fooled by an idiot dancing when he's two seconds of accomplishing his goal. Almost ruined the movie for me. Don't care if it's the point of GOTG, I hate that kind of campy stuff. IMO of course.

This version is waaaay better. Ronan needs to return. He's an amazing Gillian and is deserving of more appearances. His hammer is almost as powerful as Thor's and we barely witnessed it's power. I love got but him being defeated by dance off was funny but insulting as it was the climatic defeat. Would've liked it more if I was a distraction that wasn't involved in the final sequence. RONAN is too badass for that

I really hope we see Ronan again later on. I'd love to see him evolve into the devout protector of The Kree that he is in the comics. I know he was portrayed as some kind of terrorist in GOTG, but that was because he didn't agree with The Kree government's political dealings with Xandar. Maybe we'll see more of The Kree in GOTG 2 and maybe they'll introduce The Supreme Intelligence as ruler of The Kree, which might bring back Ronan so he can actually fulfill his role as The Accuser. Oh, and give him a new, GREEN uniform!

Of course, all of these ideas are obsolete if he turns out to be permanently dead.
