James Gunn took to Facebook today to share how excited he was that Vin Diesel just finished his final voice session as Groot. He had this to say:

Vin Diesel just finished his final session as Groot (well, for 2014 at least). All of us are astounded that one man can bring so much amazingness to a character who can only say three words. We don't affect Vin's voice at all and he sounds like an otherworldly tree! Every "I am Groot," every grunt and shriek and whine and holler is filled with heart and humor and passion. When I returned from the session, I told one of our producers, Victoria Alonso, that I think we could audition every single person in the world for Groot, and Vin Diesel would still be the best. I know directors almost always praise their stars - and, God knows, I've been fortunate with the entire cast of Guardians of the Galaxy - but I've never been more stunned by an actor able to bring so much more to a role than I originally thought possible. Rocket may be the heart of GotG, but Groot is its soul.

Well we're only about 2 months away from the release of Guardians of the Galaxy. I'm excited, are you? Sound off below!

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits–Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Peter discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand - with the galaxy’s fate in the balance. Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is presented by Marvel Studios and stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket, Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gilian, Djimon Hounsou with John C. Reilly, Glenn Close as Commander Rael and Benicio del Toro as The Collector. Distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, the film opens August 1, 2014.

It was kinda weird though hearing him in the trailer or featurette or whatever the [frick] it was, he's right, sounded exactly like Vin Diesel, think they should have "digitized" it a little at least...

The biggest thing I am looking forward to in this movie is the way the team will connect and how they will establish a relationship. It could either be a hit or miss.

@MrAisA

Yes he did.

@Amazing512

It's cool man. Happened with TASM2. Saw an unfinished version of the film and it was great but then the final cut was just dissapointing and now people are discrediting my opinion because of what I had said about TASM2 before seeing the final cut. They don't understand that things can change. Scenes get taken out, new scenes get added in etc. It's just how it works with these kind of films.

On a scale from 1-10. Ten being the best. How badass was Ronan and how memorable is he as a villian?
