New BTS Pic From GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Reveals A Cut Character
Director James Gunn has posted another behind-the-scenes image from the block busting Marvel flick, and it features Dave Bautista as Drax posing with Maleficent actress Marama Corlett, who played the Pitt Boss in the Orloni-F'saki scene but had her screen time greatly reduced.
I'm sure you'll all recall the scene from Guardians Of The Galaxy in which Drax and Rocket get drunk and gamble (the game is called Orloni-F'saki) on which alien creature will kill/eat the other while Groot looks on aghast. Well it turns out actress Marama Corlett (who can still be glimpsed apparently) originally had a much bigger role. James Gunn has posted the following pic or Corlett alongside Dave Bautista, and he also comments on why her screen time was cut down.
One of the tough things about making a film is sometimes you have to cut performances from the film, not because there was anything wrong with the performance, but for time or plotting reasons. Such was the case with @maramacorlett, who played the pit boss running the Orloni-F'saki table in the Boot of Jemiah. She was amazing, learning all of her lines in a foreign language we created. Although you can still see her in the film her part was drastically cut down because of pacing. However her character didn't die, so who knows where the pit boss could show up again! Here @realbautista rubs her head like he did in the cut scene from the movie, irritating her while drunk.
Pitt Boss confirmed for sequel!?! Guardians Of The Galaxy is in theatres now.
