James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy is on track to be the highest-grossing movie of 2014, at least until the fourth quarter which will see the third Hobbit and Hunger Games movies release. But in the meantime, Marvel/Disney is celebrating the unexpected success of the space epic adaptation with yet another "Gear and Garb" behind-the-scenes video. Now showcasing props, weapons, and costumes developed for the villains as well as the Nova Corps, check out the featurette below!

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits–Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Peter discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand - with the galaxy’s fate in the balance. Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is presented by Marvel Studios and stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket, Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gilian, Djimon Hounsou with John C. Reilly, Glenn Close as Commander Rael and Benicio del Toro as The Collector. Distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, the film opens August 1, 2014

Now is not the time for sadness, dear unknown, but it is indeed the time to dance.

Totally agree. For me it was the little things like the inclusion of the scene at the ending when they showed Dey reunited with his family. It was like, "yeah, they did save the world and it affected more people than the main characters". Gunn really knocked it out the park.

This movie was so perfect, it really makes you think, "why can't every studio do this?" Is it really that hard?

Finally watched this.

Had a lot of fun! But I'm gonna be blasphemous and say it is being hyped way too much. The villains were literally caricatures of what they should've been. The humour is getting way to silly, I dread to think of what will happen to Ant-Man....

Great action scenes and effects though!

GOTG was a real good movie. Far from perfect.
Captain America: TWS is the best CBM of 2014.
Cap 2 isn't perfect either but it's more serious tone & action is appreciated.

For those who doubt Cap in the cosmic aspect, just wait till he uses Thor's hammer or some other weapon to beat Thanos's ass.
Think about it,having Hulk or Thor put the hurt on Thanos...boring & predictable. Having Cap smash that purple prick..YES!

@Sameoldthing. Yeah, or if they have Black Widow jumping up on his shoulder from behind and "widow bite-controlling" him, riding him into the sunset yelling: Tallo hoo, b×tches!

That would not be predicted.

@Floke
Ha,that's funny..Thanos would probably enjoy Widow straddling him.

I just made a creative way for Cap,the true leader of The Avengers to give Thanos a beat down.
Whedon & Marvel will do their thing but hopefully not give us an obvious powerhouse character dispatching Thanos.
That's just uninspired.

Saw it in 3-D today! I agree, it wasn't what everyone's been hyping it to be. Superb and FUN, nonetheless! Can't wait for GOTG 2! :D

lol at people claiming Marvel is all humor and no seriousness....

...whats amazing is that the blast of fun that this movie was has dimmed the masterpiece that was CA:TWS....

Marvel saved and won the summer of 2014 and reinvigorated the cbm genre....we just don't realize it yet.

I just found out today that James Gunn is going to be at Dragon Con in Atlanta Labor Day weekend! My daughter has already said she's going to give him a big thank you hug for making one of the most memorable movies of her childhood.

I'm one proud daddy. I'll be sure to post some pics.

Are there any questions you guys want me to ask him? Just let me know and I'll see what I can do!

Seriously, Ronan getting distracted by Peter's dancing was too campy even for the movie standards.

He didnt know what to do, so he danced to distract him...its not too hard to understand...he bought Rocket time to piece the weapon back together! Hello....McFly?!?!?! It was genious. Not only that, the people that whine about humor dont understand the humor the Guardians have in the comics, and the satire, and what not of aliens not understanding human culture, slang, etc...Neck to the throat, flew right over his head, etc. Great fuking movie!
