In the following interview Vin Diesel confirms he is Groot! He also says he is involved in Marvel Studios Phase 3 plans which will be a merging of brands!

His daughter points to Groot in the concept art and Diesel lets it be known:


"From that moment on, I was Groot."


Around the 50-51 minute mark.

Guardians of the Galaxy has an August 1, 2014 release directed by James Gunn.

Ohhhh [frick]!!! I'm glad he's still having a part in a Phase 3 movie. Just having him as a tree and saying 3 words is a waste of talent, but everything is working out.

Doubt. He said the Movie he was talking about if for 2016, I' pretty sure Avengers 3 won't come out a year later after A2.

I posted that comment before I watched the video bro! lol But yeah when I heard "merging of brands" I thought different studios you know? Now I'm like what the heck is Vin hinting at? He said it was wayyyyy down the line though so what do you think man?? Is it even possible for Vin to play a different character with a voice like his??

Yeah, that Merging of Brands thing really got me thinking. At first thought, I did think of a different studios crossover movie, but who knows? We are 3 years away from 2016, he probably over exaggerated the WAYYY down the line thing to get off that specific movie, but I don't know. Hopefully we find out soon. I hate the suspicion...I need to know know!!

For the last time, Vin said the movie comes out in 2016. Avengers 3 will not be out a year right after A2.

Either Silver Surfer or Black Bolt. I just say Silver surfer because I've been hoping for that movie and it sounds like they're merging the brands but he is not who I would choose to play Norrin Radd.

But since Silver Surfer is most likely tied to Galactus and Galactus is most likely tied to Fox I don't think we'll see that happen. However I do hink he may be speaking of either mo-cap or voice acting.

I heard a sort of legit rumor that a solo hulk movie is coming after avengers 2 which if you think about it would make sense, and I just think doctor strange has to eventually come in this mix.
, and daredevil too now that marvel has him back. But it would be awesome to see silver surfer in his own movie but idk if vin diesel is the guy for that, although I do love his work.

He says something along the lines of it "is merging of brands, in a way." I don't think he means brands in terms of the different studios. To me, this sounds more along the lines of the Avengers characters tying into GotG. Maybe something like the Hulk finally getting his out of this world adventure, or perhaps (if GotG doesn't take place in the future) the team meeting up with the Avengers to battle Thanos.
