In the following video interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Vin Diesel talks in detail about playing Groot in Guardians of the Galaxy, but reveals something even more interesting about Marvel's "Phase 3" plans. As it turns out, he originally met with the studio to discuss starring in a new IP (intellectual property) which would have been released in 2016 or 2017 and kicked off the next wave of movies. What that could be is anyone's guess, but it sounds like the Riddick star will be fully committing to the role of Groot by providing his voice and motion capture. Check out the interview below and then be sure to sound off with your thoughts in the usual place!
