HELLBOY: Bloody New Still Features The Right Hand of Doom Alongside Major Ben Daimio

A new still from the upcoming Hellboy reboot has been revealed, and after the goofy tone we saw in that teaser trailer, this bloody shot might just help restore faith in what Neil Marshall has planned...

The first trailer for Hellboy was clearly aiming to strike a chord with Deadpool fans, but it somewhat missed the mark and seemingly failed to capture what many fans were actually hoping to see.

Well, another look at the movie is reportedly coming our way very soon and, in the meantime, we have a brand new image showing Hellboy (David Harbour) alongside Major Ben Daimio (Daniel Dae Kim). There's also a bloody corpse at the demonic hero's feet, which points to us getting a slightly more adult take on the character than we first suspected.

It's going to be very interesting to see how Hellboy is received and whether it ultimately launches a franchise (something Guillermo del Toro was sadly unable to do after spending years trying to get
a third instalment the greenlit).

What do you guys think of this new still? As always, share your thoughts in the comments section.

My interest in Hellboy stems from the original films, i know they are not perfect and it's never interested me enough to delve into the other media - but i wanted to see an ending to the story being told with those movies.

I am not interested in this version of Hellboy. The teaser trailer depicted it in a rather odd way and i personally hope that if this film performs badly we will have a Ghostbusters scenario where they see the outcry from fans wanting a continuation instead and decide to make an actual sequel to Hellboy 2.

@Scarilian - I've never read the Hellboy comics, and while I'm sure this is like more accurate, I'm not liking what they have presented for this film.

There is beauty to what Guerimo del Toro created wiht the first two films (especially visually) that just isn't here.

What's most frustrating is I believe Del Toro and the orginal cast are willing to do a third film. And it not like Del Toro is a supar director trying to cling on to films that made him popular; he made an Oscar Best Picture winning film with ironically a charcater very simailr to Abe Sapien.

@StormXmen123 - Actually the first Hellboy was pretty dang accurate, especially when it came to the character designs. The only one who got a major appearance change was Liz, everyone else looked like they leapt right off the pages.

@Omegacron - Personalities and tone were way off though.

Major Ben Daimio is going to have some major hearing loss if HB doesn't spread out and give him a little room before firing that hand cannon.

Well I think It all looks cool in still images I wasn’t that into the trailer. It felt overly goofy to me. But I’ll probably still see the movie, I’m hoping it’s more serious than the comedic trailer makes it seem.

Don't like the look of him. Too much hair and the coat looks like a bath robe.

Love me some Hellboy though, so hoping for good things.

I'm in. Bring it. Man, a nice black bean burger on a pretzel bun with some cajun sweet potato fries after the puff, puff, pass and reclining Lazyboy seating in front of the big screen...$5 Tuesday night flick...I need this. Hell, I just might get a hot stone massage before eating. CBMs like this one are just pure entertainment for me. Like watching Judge Dredd, Demolition Man, or Robocop on a cold day. No need to pick it apart for me.
