Paramount's horror-thriller
A Quiet Place has been one of the surprise hits of this year, grossing over $300 million worldwide and receiving rave reviews from critics and moviegoers alike. Suffice to say, a sequel is pretty much a no-brainer. And although the studio is taking its time with the follow-up and only in the beginning phases, one thing already seems set in stone - John Krasinski will be involved with the project in some way.
"Oh he's definitely involved," producer Andrew Form told Collider.
A Quiet Place was produced by Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes along with Andrew Form and Brad Fuller. Speaking to Collider, Form revealed they are just now starting to talk about a sequel and there is no rush on it.
"We’re lucky on this one. I’ve had movies where the studio says to you, ‘Here’s your date. Let’s go!’ and on this one we’re not rushing anything, which is amazing. So we’re gonna take our time, we’re gonna figure out where to go, but there is no rush on it and we’re just starting to talk about it. We’re figuring out what everyone’s involvement’s gonna be and what the actual next movie’s gonna be. The first one is so special to us that we really want to take our time with this and not rush anything."
John Krasinski not only starred in the movie but also directed and helped write it. Much of the film's success can be attributed to Krasinski's creative work. Form praised Krasinski's vision as a director and a scriptwriter, particularly his ability to take the spec script and
"really make it his own." However, he stopped short of confirming whether or not Krasinski will return in those same roles for the sequel.
"I think it's too early to talk about that," Form said when asked if Krasinski will be writing or directing the sequel.
Of course, nothing is actually set in stone as of yet. With no clear timetable on the sequel, anything can happen.
A Quiet Place arrived on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD today.
