Bruce Campbell Shuts Down All Hope For FREDDY VS JASON Sequel

It seems that those who were holding out hope for a Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash film can put those expectations to rest, at least if Bruce Campbell is to be believed.

A crossover with Evil Dead was first teased in 1993, when the Necronomicon (a device from the Evil Dead films) was seen in Jason Goes To Hell, the prelude film to Freddy vs. Jason. Since Freddy vs. Jason was released, two Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash graphic novels have been published by DC Comics, though many horror fans were still hoping to see the three-way brawl play out on the big screen, despite all three franchises having received reboots in 2009, 2010, and 2013 respectively. When the 2013 reboot of The Evil Dead was ignored so that Bruce Campbell could reprise his role as Ash in the Ash vs. Evil Dead television series, it may have seemed to some that a Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash film might still be in the realm of possibility. Well, not according to Campbell.

When a Twitter user joked that a recent sports game had restored his hope in Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash and that "Anything is possible," Campbell responded with the following:

Agreed. Except that. https://t.co/AjYfbnJIdB

Interestingly enough, this is not the first time that Campbell has expressed skepticism for the possibility for a Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash film. Back in 2013, Campbell told ComicBook.Com that "We had that conversation with New Line Cinema and it went something like this, Breep [mimicking telephone ringing] Oh. look it’s New Line Cinema. Hello. 'Hi, this is New Line Cinema. We'd like to make Ash Vs. Jason Vs. Freddy.' Great idea, then Ash can kill Jason and Freddy once and for all. Hello? That was it. That was the conversation." Regardless, Campbell currently stars as Ash in Ash vs. Evil Dead. Another Friday the 13th reboot is planned for an October 2017 release, while the A Nightmare On Elm Street franchise appears to be dead at the moment.

Welcome, I am Darkknight2149. I am primarily a fan of comic books and their various adaptations, as well as horror and other classic film franchises.

As far as the "DC vs. Marvel" rivalry goes, I'm really not biased when it comes to studios and publishers. Preferences are fine, but I've never understood the basing of opinions purely by the studio/publisher that makes it.
