After becoming a New York Times Bestselling novel, Seth Grahame-Smith's retelling of the Jane Austen classic known as
Pride & Prejudice & Zombies has become a hot movie property that just hasn't picked up much steam on its move to the silver screen.
David O. Russell (
The Fighter) was the first director attached to bring the book to life on screen. But after some scheduling problems, he was forced to exit the project. The only thing is that Russell apparently left behind an amazing script, encouraging the Lions Gate to move forward with the movie and begin the search for a new director.
Then came Mike White (
Year Of The Dog), who would make commitment to directing the project, before also leaving due to scheduling conflicts.
For the past few months, Craig Gillespie's name has been brought into the fold of potential director's for the film. Now
DEADLINE is reporting that the rumors have become true, and that Gillespie is indeed the newest director attached to
Pride & Prejudice & Zombies.
