Cameras are now rolling on the new Halloween movie, which will reportedly be a direct sequel to John Carpenter's original horror masterpiece. Blumhouse Productions confirmed the news via the production still below (could this be the new logo, perhaps?), while also revealing that several new additions have joined the cast.
Virginia Gardner (Marvel’s Runaways), Miles Robbins (Mozart in the Jungle), Dylan Arnold (Mudbound), and Drew Scheid (Stranger Things) will all play school-friends of Andi Matichak’s character, Allyson. They'll be joined by Jamie Lee Curtis who will reprise the role of Laurie Strode, and Nick Castle, who will be back under the mask as Michael Myers, a.k.a. "The Shape."
David Gordon Green (Eastbound & Down, Pineapple Express, Our Brand Is Crisis) is on board to direct new movie from a script co-written by frequent collaborator Danny McBride. John Carpenter will executive produce.
Halloween is set to slice its way into theaters on October 19.
