Director John Krasinski announced today, via
Twitter, that his eagerly awaited sequel to
A Quiet Place has officially commenced production and based on the photo he shared, it appears we may have a tentative title as well:
A Quiet Place: Part II.
Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe will reprise their roles from the 2018 horror blockbuster and will be joined by franchise newcomers Cillian Murphy (
Batman Begins), who will play a man with mysterious intentions that joins the family unit, and Brian Tyree Henry (
Joker), who's been cast in an equally mysterious role.
The first film grossed over $340 million on a modest $17 million production budget, which gave Paramount Pictures more than enough incentive to fast track a sequel with the same creative team.
In addition to directing, Krasinski also wrote the sequel's script. Andrew Form, Brad Fuller, and Michael Bay will return as producers.
