Prepare For The End Of Alice's Story With This New RESIDENT EVIL: THE FINAL CHAPTER Motion Poster

Following the recent batch of trailers, Sony has released a new motion poster for what's being marketed as the last installment in their series of video game adaptations, Resident Evil: The Final Chapter.

Many are surprised that this franchise has lasted as long as it has, but the sci-fi/horror flicks have always been pretty decent earners and that's really all that matters. Do you have fun with these movies, or are you glad they're finally coming to an end?

Picking up immediately after the events in Resident Evil: Retribution, humanity is on its last legs after Alice is betrayed by Wesker in Washington D.C. As the only survivor of what was meant to be humanity’s final stand against the undead hordes, Alice must return to where the nightmare began – Raccoon City, where the Umbrella Corporation is gathering its forces for a final strike against the only remaining survivors of the apocalypse. In a race against time Alice will join forces with old friends, and an unlikely ally, in an action packed battle with undead hordes and new mutant monsters. Between losing her superhuman abilities and Umbrella’s impending attack, this will be Alice’s most difficult adventure as she fights to save humanity, which is on the brink of oblivion.

Starring Milla Jovovich, Ali Larter, Iain Glen, Shawn Roberts, Ruby Rose, Eoin Macken, William Levy, Fraser James, and Rola, Resident Evil: The Final Chapter is set to be released on January 27th, 2017.

Mila and Kate Beckinsale should be cast in some comic movies, that way they wouldn't have to star in their husbands terrible franchises

@SimplyAz - ...not many female actresses can say they made more than three sequels that they star in besides Sigourney, Jlaw, and Kristen Stewart!!!

...don't think I can count Madea and Big Mama!!!

@incredibleTalk -

Of course, it's just such a shame two actresses who can handle the physicality are not cast in mainstream roles that requires that in the role.
Give me these two over an anorexic Angelina Jolie clearing a room of 10 guys in Salt.

Seriously, why are they making this movie again?

@Nerdman3000 - blame mortal kombat

"Ironically, me not doing Mortal Kombat II is kind of the reason I've ended up doing Resident Evil one, two, three, four, five, six … " Paul Anderson (regarding him not wanting to abandon a franchise again)

Personally i find this film somewhat necessary, its one thing to produce something that people hate - but to produce something that people hate and not fulfil it to the end would honestly have been more disappointing.

Like with 'The Amazing Spider-man' series - its disappointing that we never got an ending to that even though Spider-man in the MCU offers more possibilities for better films.

@Scarilian - I agree. I really would have liked a third Amazing Spider-Man movie. Not because I loved those movies, but to have a more fitting ending. With that being said, Spider-man Homecoming should be great!

I'm glad these RE films are being laid to rest. Hopefully, in a few years we can get a good reboot. They could make 2 movies, just adapt the first two games into a movie, and call it good.

@ForceOfLegend - ....you guys do know that these movies are the top grossing video game movies ever made...just saying!!!

@incredibleTalk - they are financially successful, but that doesn't really mean much. Especially when you consider the "competition". Uwe Bowl's Blood Rayne for example. Unfortunately, video game movies are like comic book movies 25 years ago. It was rare to have a "good" one. I'm glad the RE series is successful, I hope that will inspire studio executives to reconsider adapting more franchises in a better creative light.

@Scarilian -As a fan and preferrer of Webb's flaws and successes over Raimi's with the character/films, I rather agree. Spidey needs to be in the Marvel universe.

@Mercwitham0uth - the only one they liked was deadpool :D and that is far and away the best cbm of the year.

they really don't give a shit about superheroes, they just like good movies so i find their perspective interesting.

also, i watch their channel every single day.

WoshJilding for editor. Make CBM great again.

In other news, Resident Evil sucks. This franchise has the potential to be a great horror series...lets just hope this is the final chapter of Paul WS Anderson's series.

Anyone who defends these movies can go fly a kite. The original film should have been based on the very 1st game, with the S.T.A.R.S. members trapped in the mansion after the rescue mission fails. It could have been one of the scariest films ever made and a true original thriller. Instead we got this absolute bullshit which has nothing to do with the source. Goofy films.

Hopefully we get a reboot sometime soon.
