SAW X Spoilers: Here's What Happens In The Horror Movie's Twisted Post-Credits Scene

Yes, Saw X is the first instalment in this horror franchise to feature a post-credits scene but is it worth sticking around for? Find out exactly what happens during this memorable stinger after the jump!

Saw X arrived in theaters today and, as we write this, it's easily the best-reviewed instalment of the franchise with an impressive 85% on Rotten Tomatoes (making it the only "Fresh" instalment in the entire horror series with 2004's Saw in second place with 50%).

The nostalgia factor appears to be in full effect, mostly thanks to the return of John Kramer and Amanda more than 15 years after both characters were killed off. Tobin Bell and Shawnee Smith reprise their roles for a movie set between the events of Saw and Saw II which tells an untold story from Kramer's past.

For the first time in the franchise's history, we get a mid-credits scene, but what happens?

Henry Kessler (Michael Beach), the person who lied to Kramer about being a cancer survivor thanks to the same procedure the killer later undergoes, is shown to be in one of the Jigsaw Killer's traps. As you might expect, Kramer is looking to take his revenge and the action is set in an iconic Saw location: a grimy bathroom.

Earlier in the movie, the serial killer is shown talking on the phone to a detective about an unknown person, but this sequence reveals it was the returning Detective Mark Hoffman (Costas Mandylor) on the other end of the call. He gave Kramer the intel he needed about Henry and, based on past experience, we don't see things ending well for the con man.

As for the significance of this stinger, it's simply a nod to the franchise's storied - and often convoluted - history.

Hoffman appeared in five Saw movies, starting with Saw III and culminating with Saw 3D: The Final Chapter (spoiler alert: it wasn't). He became the new Jigsaw Killer after Kramer's death and this scene simply fleshes out their history as "master" and "apprentice."

Let us know your thoughts on Saw X's post-credits scene in the comments section.

John Kramer (Tobin Bell) is back. The most chilling instalment of the Saw franchise yet explores the untold chapter of Jigsaw’s most personal game. Set between the events of SAW I and II, a sick and desperate John travels to Mexico for a risky and experimental medical procedure in hopes of a miracle cure for his cancer – only to discover the entire operation is a scam to defraud the most vulnerable.

Armed with a newfound purpose, John returns to his work, turning the tables on the con artists in his signature visceral way through a series of ingenious and terrifying traps.

Diected by Kevin Greutert and written by Peter Goldfinger and Josh Stolberg, Saw X stars Tobin Bell, Shawnee Smith, Synnøve Macody Lund, Steven Brand, Michael Beach, and Renata Vaca, and is now playing in theaters.

@dracula - I dont see Mr. Freeze as being a role that demands Tobin be in the suit physically. He could play the old aged scientist who long ago froze his dying love in order to find a cure for her unknown illness, but is growing old himself and running out of time. So in his madness, he pushes his experiments and himself to the limit, and the accident that transforms him into a frail sickly husk dependent on extreme cold to survive. My idea is that the accident destroied his body and his head and the withered crumpled clump that was his body now floats in an ice cold tank, and he builds his containment suit, at first to survive, then to continue his research, then to facilitate his crimes. But the suit could be any number of suits in the film, a normal human size type suit or a big chunky body with huge ice guns.

Anyone else remember months back when folks thought this movie was going to make John Kramer out as more of an anti-hero instead of just, you know... Jigsaw.

Awesome movie, one of the better Saw flicks. I don’t know that if call its mid-credits scene “twisted” though. Just an example of Josh clickbaiting 😂

I saw "Saw X" and really liked it 4.5 Stars / 5 Stars not for the weak stomach. I will only post some Critics Reviews that I think describes this movie the best.

* Set between Saw and Saw II, the tenth instalment of the torture-porn franchise amazingly hasn’t run out of steam.

* Surprisingly, Saw X is actually a terrific entry in this nineteen-year-old franchise. It gives you all the blood, guts and cringe-inducing affect you expect from a Saw movie.

A serious actor, Bell surely knows this bloody franchise will be what he’s best remembered for, and he treats the role of John Kramer, the Jigsaw Killer, like it’s Shakespeare.

A fantasy of macabre riddles, gore galore, torn off limbs, and twists that are as absurd as they are efficient.

Rotten Tomatoes Score :)

87% = TOMATOMETER

90% = AUDIENCE SCORE

@AllsGood - Thought it was mid-to low tier. There was a bunch good about it that made it feel like a Saw film they've made us feel accustomed to, but that also really made all the bad just well more frustrating. The gore was largely tip-top, and Tobin Bell delivered his best performance as John Kramer specifically; his best Jigsaw performance I would place in another movie. I just felt the movie could have been so much more, instead of just doing the same old safe stuff they've been doing. Doesn't mean there weren't surprises, but when the classic score came in for the final twist, it felt so uninspired. And the ultimate antagonists of the film was all just cheap, horribly done, and absolutely terribly written characters.
