THE WALKING DEAD's Glen Mazzara Signs Up To Pen THE SHINING Prequel For Warner Bros.
He may have parted ways with AMC over the future direction of The Walking Dead, but former showrunner Glen Mazzara has had no trouble finding a new job as it is now being reported that he is in talks to write The Overlook Hotel for Warner Bros.
Last July, it was reported that Warner Bros. had hired Shutter Island's Laeta Kalogridis to write a prequel to The Shining. However, Deadline now reports that the studio has entered talks with former The Walking Dead showrunner Glen Mazzara to write The Overlook Hotel. This will be a prequel to Stanley Kubrick's The Shining, but won't have any relation to upcoming novel Dr Sleep (a sequel to the original book) and it's thought that Stephen King won't have any involvement with this prequel. Personally, I would prefer to see a faithful adaptation of The Shining rather than a film not based on any of King's work, but what do you guys think? Sound off with your thoughts below!
