"They're Here": New Full-Length Trailer For The POLTERGEIST Remake

This second full trailer for the Sam Raimi produced remake of Tobe Hooper's classic horror flick will look very familiar to anyone who's seen the original, but it still manages some creepy atmospherics. Something tells me Sam Rockwell won't be dancing in this one...

Legendary filmmaker Sam Raimi (producer) reimagines and contemporizes the classic tale about a family whose suburban home is invaded by angry spirits. When the terrifying apparitions escalate their attacks and take the youngest daughter, the family must come together to rescue her.

Poltergeist was originally set to be released on July 24th, but it will now be with us on May 22nd

The real disappointment is they didn't find someone like Zelda they found some old British guy.

Looks alright. I would still much rather have a Nightmare on Elm Street sequel, though.

And [frick] Sam Raimi.

@MercwithMouth Sam Raimi is a [frick]ing legend, he's given us Braindead, Evil Dead(s), Darkman and the best superhero trilogy thus far

WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?

Well, seeing as I don't like the Evil Dead movies, and the Raimi Spider-Man trilogy is Elektra bad to me...I think I'm fine with my sentiment. But, by all means, be butthurt that someone doesn't like a director. I'm sure it means a lot to Sam.

[frick]ing children these days...

Man, Sam Raimi is a B-movie legend @Merc. Darkman is like my favorite guilty pleasure movie besides Bad Boys II

Meh, lame remake. Horror movies suck nowadays, majority of them rely on predictable jumpscares.

Looks decent.
Don't know why people hate on remakes/reboots.
If they are done well, great. If they suck, the original still exists. No big deal.
To me the new MAD MAX looks like it will far surpass the original films & I love those.

I'm with you @MercwithMouth

I've never understood the appeal of the Evil Dead franchise or Raimi's brand of weird horror. It's all about the whole "so bad it's good" or the "horror so stupid it's funny" that is so pointless to me.

Now, Spider-Man 2 is an excellent film. But on the whole, Raimi is way over-rated. Plus Bruce Campbell is not funny either.

Why remake???!!! Just re-release the original in theaters, and to make it more tempting, make re-release matinee prices all day.

it looks spooky, but there's just no way that it could top the original in any way other than special effects.

I mean I have seen Poltergeist like 20 times so it doesn't phase me now, but as a lad it scared the JESUS out of me. I thought it was absolutely terrifying, and so did my parents.

I took the VHS over to my friend's house for a sleep over and it scared him so bad he cried all night.

I just don't think a remake could recapture anything like that same hair raising force.

What merc has or hasn't done in his life is completely meaningless in regard to the validity. Critical and creative faculties are not necessarily related or dependent on one another.

Or in simpler terms since youre obviously dumb as [frick], I don't need to work at Kelloggs to see that someone took a shit in my cornflakes.
