Analysts are predicting that the film adaptation of Max's Brooks's zombie survival book, WORLD WAR Z, directed by Marc Forster and starring Brad Pitt, is on it's way to earning approximately $52-$58 Million on it's opening weekend, potentially beating out box office hit, MAN OF STEEL. The movie was originally budgeted for $150 Million but inflated to $190 Million after marked reshoots. Internationally, WORLD WAR Z has earned $5.7 Million thus far with $1.5 Million in South Korea vs $1.1 Million for MOS the preceding week, $1.1 Million in Australia, and earned records in Argentina with $710,000, twice that of MOS. This is great news for all those involved as the film has been plagued with difficulties from early on in production including massive rewrites and reshoots. It appears WORLD WAR Z's primary competition comes in the form of another monster movie, Pixar's MONSTERS UNIVERSITY, which will win the weekend with a predicted earnings of $71 Million.

Definitely a lot of negativity towards this movie but I've been hoping it would overcome and do well assuming it deserves it. Can't say I've seen it yet though.

Honestly I'll likely see MOS again before I see WWZ in theaters. But I'm interested.
