From their official Facebook page, Make-Up Effects Group - who provided the visuals for films such as Babe and the Matrix trilogy - have been hired to provide the effects for I, Frankenstein, based on the Kevin Grevioux graphic novel and starring Aaron Eckhart in the title role. The story is described as "a contemporary fantasy thriller in which the original monster of Victor Frankenstein stands between the human race and an uprising of supernatural creatures determined to overthrow the world." The group has confirmed that some concept demon statues have already been created, and that they're currently working on Eckhart's Frankenstein look.

We are really excited to announce that Make-up Effects Group have been given the job to create all the special make-up effects for the feature film I, Frankenstein.

We’ve already created some cool conceptual demon sculptures that Stuart and the team loved. Currently we are developing the Frankenstein “look” for actor Aaron Eckhart.

It's about to go into life-casting over-drive, as all the actors come in to have their head casts done.

MEG are looking forward to doing something very special for the show.

Do you think that MUEG is a good choice to provide the FX for the movie? Share your thoughts below.

I, Frankenstein is scheduled to hit theaters February 22nd, 2013.

< - - - - Pay the estate of Jack Pierce and Boris Karloff (however it's set-up for copyright) and go with the BEST EVER look - the James Whale version. I should know. If not - do the same for the Guillermo version.
