As time flies over Iron Man 3 in production, some speculation to the film's plot and characters seem to have revealed a secret that Shane Black and other staff of Marvel are hiding from the audience until further notice. With both A.I.M. (Advanced Idea Mechanics) and Aldrich Killian (with attempts of spreading nanobots) confirmed to be in the film working together, there is a high possibility that both the mad scientist and the evil organization will be lead into creating the diabolical Technovore
Technovore has debated in Iron Man #294
It says that Tony Stark has leased his newly cleansed space station (once infected by an A.I.M. bacillus) to Cauwfield Chemical Co. but something has gone terribly wrong! The scientists at the station have apparently been infected with something -- but what?? Cauwfield neglected to inform Stark that his co. had been working with nanotechnology!! To his dismay, Iron Man (Tony Stark, actually, as it was the Telepresence Armor that was dispatched for the rescue) discovers this little tidbit while on his obligatory rescue mission. The "nanobots" have combined to form the "Technovore" -- an ever-changing bio-mechanical construct only bent on constantly adding more power and matter to itself. And guess who's next? 'Ol Shellhead, of course!!
IM puts up a good battle, but eventually Technovore corners him and starts to add IM's substance to its own, causing Stark excruciating "neural feedback" through the telepresence connection. His armor is set to self-destruct and as it does, Tony is "rescued" by some omnipotent chick associated with the "Infinity Crusade" crossover. But at any rate, the Stark space station is finally, utterly destroyed.
Since Technovore appears quite affiliated with A.I.M., there are chances that Guy Pearce (who plays Aldrich Killian) will become the monster by injecting himself with nanobots or will use the nanobots to create the monster itself.
To find out, stay tuned for more updates for the film to reveal.
