Thanks to @IrishAvengerCBM for the heads up.

From Academy Award®--winning filmmaker Andrew Stanton comes "John Carter"—a sweeping action-adventure set on the mysterious and exotic planet of Barsoom (Mars). "John Carter" is based on a classic novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs, whose highly imaginative adventures served as inspiration for many filmmakers, both past and present. The film tells the story of war-weary, former military captain John Carter (Taylor Kitsch), who is inexplicably transported to Mars where he becomes reluctantly embroiled in a conflict of epic proportions amongst the inhabitants of the planet, including Tars Tarkas (Willem Dafoe) and the captivating Princess Dejah Thoris (Lynn Collins). In a world on the brink of collapse, Carter rediscovers his humanity when he realizes that the survival of Barsoom and its people rests in his hands.

Directed by Andrew Stanton, the cast includes Taylor Kitsch, Lynn Collins, Mark Strong, Willem Dafoe and Dominic West. John Carter will be hitting theatres on March 9, 2012!

@HulkbusterNYC: The novel that has inspired this supposed rip-off of Star Wars has been written in 1912 by Edgar "Tarzan of the Apes" Rice Burroughs.

I'm ignorant because I think this movie looks bad? Lol ok! I understand the book was written before Star Wars but THE MoViE looks like a bad mixture of Star Wars and 10000 BC.. Can't I have an opinion on this site? I haven't seen anything but the SFX that looks that great about this movie.. I read the novel and it seems alot better than this shit.. U dudes make me laugh.. Oh it has a better director than Avengers? So [frick]in what? That doesn't mean I will enjoy it more.. I never said it was a rip off of Star Wars either u guys get all emotional on this site like I'm just being A hater.. Disney keeps releasing footage because their research is saying no one is interested in this movie so they're doing everything they can to draw in an audience.. I genuinely have no interest in seeing this movie in theaters and i don't think it will be better than the other CBMs coming out this year.. It's an OPINION jerkoffs!

People like YOU that think everything is EPIC make me laugh.. I don't know about any dogs getting raped but if that's what you're into than so be it.. So you're arguement is that it's based on older source material therefore it must be EPIC? I like the source material but it doesn't mean the movie will be executed well.. Let me clarify, I think the story of John Carter is cool but Disneys adaptation of the source material looks like it falls short IMO..
