ARROW Writer Marc Guggenheim Hopes To See GREEN LANTERN In JUSTICE LEAGUE

Marc Guggenheim now serves as a producer and writer on Arrow, but he was also one of the (too many) cooks in the kitchen who worked on 2011's Green Lantern. Here, he shares his thoughts on his hopes that the Emerald Knight will make a return to the big screen in Justice League...

Marc Guggenheim served as one of the writers on Green Lantern, but now serves as showrunner on Arrow. Despite at one point being attached to a big screen adaptation of The Flash, his role in the realm of live-action DC adaptations seems to be confined to television. Regardless, when IGN caught up with him recently, they quizzed him about his interest in seeing Hal Jordan part of Zack Snyder's recently announced Justice League movie. "I would love it," Guggenheim said. "At the end of the day, I just want to see a great Justice League movie. I think they’re putting a lot of really cool pieces into play with the first two Superman movies and I’m basically a sucker for a great comic book movie. As long as they’re doing something awesome, I’ll be the first one in line." While he obviously doesn't know anything about their plans (or if he does, he's not saying), do you agree with him that Green Lantern should be part of the team? Sound off below!

2011's Green Lantern and the TV DCU will never be a part of the DCCU.

If they connect Arrow and The Flash to the DCCU, DC will be unstoppable.

I just wanted an excuse to post those gifs...

The film was a train wreck. But it had a very talented cast and it'd be a shame not to see them back.
Ryan is a very underrated actor. I liked him as Hal! I think he'd be able to bring a little but of humour to a serious movie.
- and who doesn't wanna see Blake in a curve hugging CGI Star sapphire suit!?!

I'm a big fan of Arrow but I don't think DC is going to have their filmverse and their TVverse combined. That'd be awesome but I don't think its gonna happen. I'm fine with Green Lantern being in a Justice League movie but the character can't have any link to that monstrosity of a film from 2011. Get a new story and a new actor for the character and they'll be on the right track.

@DaVinci No, just, no. I like Nathan Fillion as much as the next guy, but he shouldn't be Green Lantern anywhere beside animation.

I'd be cool with Hal...or Kyle.

I don't see the point in a Justice League film unless you have Flash and Green Lantern honestly. And I'm talking a real Flash, not that CW dude. When I want a Flash who can sing and dance and do jazz-hands, I'll call the Glee Flash.

Why is everyone so adamant about merging the TV and Movies? Are we all just fans of mediocre films now? Arrow is fine as a TV series, but the characters/production quality isn't up to snuff for films.

Green Lantern is part of the Justice League team. Is he not? Give Ryan another chance with a decent story. Cap 2 showed how an actor can continue to grow in a role.

Thats because they don't have the budget of a film. If Arrow had the budget of a film it wouldn't even be on TV to begin with.

I didn't think much of his talent too until I saw him in "Buried" watch it!
He carries the entire film by himself.

I think Ryan Reynolds would be a great adition to Justice League cast.

Ben Affleck was another superhero too years ago, so I doubt general audience will have a problem with another similar case, and he is well known worldwide, so it would be a plus. The more familiar faces the better.

Id preffer to have him back as Deadpool, but being back as Green Lantern would be nice too, this way his origin would be told already, so no need to go there again.

GL film was not bad because of Ryan..it was a poor script.
GL should have been 99% outer space adventure,he's better suited as a space cop patrolling his sector.

Let other heroes stay fight Earth based crime/evil.
Sinestro was awesome..so sad no more of him.
