COMICS: 2 Classic DC Characters Make Their New 52 Debut In JUSTICE LEAGUE 3000

We were promised first New 52 appearances from some well-loved characters in the build-up to next year's Convergence event, and that's kicked off in one of today's issues. Be warned though, final page SPOILERS for Justice League 3000 #11 after the jump.

Like the blurb says -- not clones, not cosplay, this is apparently the genuine Booster Gold and Blue Beetle from some type of pre-New 52 reality. Word is these two jokers were going to debut in Justice League 3000 issue #12, but we've obviously got a little teaser here. Expect many more old-school DC characters to appear as the board is set for next year's big Convergence event.

Isn't Booster Gold from the future anyway?

Blue Beetle and Booster are definitely two of my favorite DC characters, but I really hope this doesn't mean they're bringing back the underwear costumes.

Justice League 3000 is not in New 52 continuity.

My guess is that reality is attempting to correct itself, and pre 52 characters will start showing up like this. Eventually it will all come to a head and DC will take the best bits from both pre and new 52 and merge them into one happy universe/continuity.

Actually, Ted Korda already debuted in the New 52, during Forever Evil.

Ted Kord debuted in the New 52, true...but not his version of Blue Beetle. This Kord is clearly older than the Forever Evil version.

Also, Booster Gold was in the New 52 from day one, with a starring role in JLI before he vanished in JLI Annual. So this article is full of bs.

I love these two jokers! Especially from Keith Giffen's run on Justice League International.

Yes! I love JL3000. They're all such jerks. Almost reminds me of old school Stormwatch.

"But how is that possible?"

Um, because there's no goddamn continuity at DC anymore?

They could've kept Booster's updated costume. Not even Nightwing could pull off that disco collar, and he's the most fabulous superhero of them all.

It might not be the New52 Booster. There are already two versions of him running around.

.... Didn't the Writers say that JL 3000 isn't a part of the New 52?

So...you can buy laser vision, giant star fish, and batarangs but a popped collar was a line too far?

@ SKOne

I'd take underwear wearing post crisis/pre-new 52 Superman over new 52 Superman any day of the week.
