Definitive Answers On JUSTICE LEAGUE From Zack Snyder

It's a definitive 'Yes' and 'No.' In all seriousness, Man of Steel director Zack Snyder looks to have a hit on his hands with his reinterpretation of Superman for the modern age. So what's next? That's the million dollar question at the moment before Man of Steel even hits U.S. theaters. To that end, the L.A. Times' Hero Complex blog asked Snyder point-blank about a Justice League film for an upcoming profile on the director. Ahead of that profile, they've posted Snyder's response to that particular question. Said Zack, "Do the DC characters exist in the universe I created? The answer is yes. In my mind, we have this fantastic character of Superman. It’s not madness that there would be others. Now, that being said, does a ‘Justice League’ movie exist now? No. Whether or not I ever get to make that movie, I don’t know. What is real is that there’s a crack — a foot — in the door. That’s promising. The door is definitely open."

Hero Complex also asked the same of Man of Steel producer Christopher Nolan, but he declined to comment on anything beyond Man of Steel. Said Nolan, "What I’ve been hoping for is to be able to take my kids to see a version of this story that is going to fry their imaginations the way the 1978 [‘Superman’] that Dick Donner did for me when I was an 8-year old boy. That’s what I’ve been focused on and that’s my role in things. So anything beyond that, I can’t comment."

Interesting enough, earlier this year Snyder reportedly confirmed that IF Warner Bros. decides to make a Justice League film, he'll be the person they ask to direct it. However a more recent report quotes Snyder as stating the he thinks a Man of Steel sequel should occur first before a Justice League film. It appears that's the case but what other films should occur before Justice League? One more Superman film or should there be solo ventures for other DC characters like Flash, Wonder Woman or Batman?
