It Sounds Like Bryan Cranston Passed On Playing Commissioner Gordon In JUSTICE LEAGUE

Pretty much everyone wants to see Breaking Bad's Bryan Cranston in a superhero movie, but in a new interview, the actor seemingly reveals why he decided to pass on joining the DC Films Universe...

Despite being a fan-favourite choice to take on the role of Lex Luthor in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Bryan Cranston has mentioned a few times now that he was never actually approached by Zack Snyder and Warner Bros. However, it sounds like that may have come calling for Justice League as Batman-News has spotted an interview in which the actor seems to confirm turning them down.

"I’ve been asked to take a look at Commissioner Gordon," he reveals in the video below. "And it’s well, I would be one in several [movies]. I’d kind of like to carve out a new identity." So, it doesn't sound as if Cranston was too keen on a multi-picture deal or essentially just being a supporting player among a large cast of more exciting and colourful characters. That's actually easy to understand.

However, he went on to mention one character he would love to play: X-Men baddie Mr. Sinister!

With Oscar winner J.K. Simmons playing Gordon, this really doesn't feel like the end of the world, but it will be interesting to see what Cranston eventually says yes to. He has after all signed up for Power Rangers, so Marvel and DC Entertainment must have something better than that to offer, right?

First! He was actually my top choice for the role, especially since he's already done the voice. Ah well.

He would be the best live action James Gordon.

Good. Now cast him as Kang the Conqueror in Phase 4 of the MCU.

Damn, he would've been so nice in that role.

I understand why though. Playing a character in a universe is a big commitment

Fox should snatch him as Mr. Sinister ASAP

@Robby - Too late for that, he's the main villain in Wolverine 3.
