JUSTICE LEAGUE Star Gal Gadot Named GQ's (Wonder) Woman Of The Year For 2017

Is there any actress working right now that had a bigger year than Gal Gadot? GQ certainly doesn't seem to think so. As a matter of fact, they've decided to name her 2017's "Woman of the Year."

To say that Justice League actress Gal Gadot is having a good year would be, as Barry Allen so eloquently put it, an oversimplification. In a time when a dark cloud loomed heavily over DC's film division, Gadot saved the day and won over the hearts and minds of fans and critics alike.

After releasing three films that were viewed by many as mediocre at best, pressure fell on the release of the Patty Jenkins helmed Wonder Woman to change the landscape of the
DC Extended Universe - and she delivered. With a great supporting cast, a lighter tone that still respected the foundation that was already laid, and a strong plot, Wonder Woman finally brought fans the movie they wanted and deserved. Gadot was the centerpiece of the film's success, starring as the titular heroine and truly helped usher in a new age of heroes.

You can see Gal Gadot now in Justice League, which is in theaters now.

Remember when people on hear bitched and moaned over her casting because of the size of her breasts or her physical shape?

(Certainly not for her acting ability because few people ever brought that up when she was cast)

@LEVITIKUZ - That's not true. Lots of people brought up her poor performance in the Fast franchise before that. You're being disingenuous.

@LEVITIKUZ - I bitched endlessly about her acting ability.

And... whatever she's doing it's working. I'm not sure I'd call it acting though. It's more like "wafting" through her dialogue. But... hey, it works well enough. She's turned in a better performance than any of the rest of the Leaguers. For a long time, I thought Cavill was just struggling with the material, but I'm not so sure anymore. He's... fine. But I haven't seen him really feel present in a role since about halfway through the Tudors. (Not that I've seen all of his work, though.)

She's had a great 2017 and who would have thought she'd be the shining light of the DCEU at this point?
