Will 'Batman' Ally 'Alfred Pennyworth' Return In JUSTICE LEAGUE? Jeremy Irons Reveals All!
We already know that J.K. Simmons will be making a brief appearance in Justice League as Commissioner Gordon, but will the Dark Knight's loyal butler Alfred also show his face? Hit the jump to find out...
Showbiz 411 has confirmed that Jeremy Irons will return as Batman's loyal butler Alfred in Justice League. The British actor apparently confirmed that he'll reprise the role in a chat with the site after they watched him perform on screen in The Man Who Knew Infinity. Honestly, this was to be expected (where The Dark Knight goes, Alfred surely follows), but it's still great news. Irons' chemistry with Ben Affleck was a highlight of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, so reuniting them is essential.
Of course, as he'll be the one assembling the Justice League, Batman is expected to have a leading role in this movie, so it wouldn't actually make much sense if Alfred wasn't there providing him with intel. Just how big his role will be obviously remains to be seen at this point, but be sure to let us know how you feel about the decision to explore more of the Caped Crusader's world in this movie below.
