ZACK SNYDER'S JUSTICE LEAGUE Still Gives Us An Official Look At Wayne T. Carr As John Stewart

Zack Snyder shared a glimpse of the version of John Stewart he was forced to remove from his cut of Justice League last year, but actor Wayne T. Carr has now posted an official look at the image.

As we know, Zack Snyder was originally planning to introduce Martian Manhunter and John Stewart in his director's cut of Justice League, but only J'onn J'onzz ended up in the finished film. Now, to mark the one-year anniversary of the movie's HBO Max release, actor Wayne T. Carr has shared our first official look at his take on the Green Lantern.

Snyder actually gave us a glimpse of this image on his phone during an Army of The Dead screening last year, but this is obviously a much higher-quality look at Carr in-costume as the ring-slinging hero.

The epilogue of ZSJL saw the Manhunter drop in for a chat with Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck), but Snyder later revealed that he shot the scene with Carr as Stewart before Warner Bros. stepped in. Apparently, the filmmaker was asked to use a different version of the sequence because the studio had other plans for the character (the currently in-development Green Lantern Corps movie, presumably).

Carr posted the still to Twitter with the hashtag #RestoreTheSnyderVerse.

Warner Bros. revisiting the "Snyder Era" of the DCEU is a huge long-shot, which means Carr probably won't get to suit-up as John Stewart again. It's possible, of course, but the character will most likely be recast.

@AmazingFILMporg - It’s better than what Reynolds wore.

Doesn’t make me want to see this movie whatsoever but it’s still better

@AmazingFILMporg - yeah. Not the best. Say what you want about Ryan Reynolds GL, the idea for the costume to be made of energy makes the most sense if the ring is going to make it appear and disappear on command. Although, if the ring runs low on power, will he just be left nude? The more I think about GL... let's leave him in the comics.

@bs77 - I mean, The Flash's suit comes out of a ring on his finger. Like, the actual suit. Stuffed onto a ring.

Look, I appreciate Snyder for wanting to include Stewart since another black hero is always much needed, but good God, this is never going to end is it? The cult of personality around Snyder has just ruined everything.

@JesseCuster - Is not even for Snyder, they didnt support Army of the Dead.
The cult surrounds the Snyder's DC adaptations, they dont support Snyder or DC for separate, their unhealthy obsession is with Snyder's DC, especifically.

If Snyder ever goes back to work for Warner (no reason why he shouldnt) they will turn on Snyder himself, even if it is on another DC franchise (if they ever make a Red Hood mini series, Zack is the perfect person for it).

Its beem almost 10 years, but they are still obsessed over Cavill, Affleck, Shannon, etc, even if all these actors had already moved on, and in some cases openly stated they DONT WANT to come back.

Ben Affleck and Michael shannon is coming back for the Flash movie, also Cavill has always expressed interest in coming back as Superman

@JoJo1982 - I just said Cavill was the only one open to come back.
And Affleck is coming back only to pull-off a Han Solo.

TheWinkler
TheWinkler - 3/18/2022, 3:15 PM
@TheHumanSpider2 - Snyder's, but I believe WB told him post shooting this scene that Jon couldn't be used so they went the Martian Manhunter route.
TheHumanSpider2
TheHumanSpider2 - 3/18/2022, 3:22 PM
@TheWinkler - But why? the MM was more expensive to make, and the actor had to record his lines remotely because of the pandemic.
Changing GL for the MM was a decision Zack took, it doesnt make sense the studio demanded for it, Warner gave the man $70M (some say more) and told him "do literally whatever you want".

While I dont blame Snyder for the actions of his fanatics, I think this is on him, he shouldnt've released that GL footage, he knew what he was provoking.

@TheHumanSpider2 - They didn't let him release this because of the GL show they're developing

TheWinkler

@TheHumanSpider2 - The show is literally either filming or about to start. They've got a cast lined up and everything.
Battabingg
Battabingg - 3/18/2022, 4:31 PM
@TheWinkler - Pretty sure they told him he couldn't use John Stewart because they had plans for him. But Snyder did it anyway and was forced to cut it.
The thing about MM is that it was completely fan-suggested.

@TheHumanSpider2 - they did, told Snyder to remove him or they would pull the plug on the movie. They "had plans" for GL. Yet here we arw and no GL movie or series in sight.
